Hello everyone

Greetings to you all on this beautiful day in this great community @diyhub i hope you are all doing great, it is another lovely day for me to share with you the making of this beautiful long tail scrunchie hair band with a bow using two different colors of fabrics.

I have come across this hair band in various places online but with same color but when I decided to try it out, i thought of using two different colors of fabrics to see how the outcome will look and im so glad it came out nice more than expected.

I love making different types of accessories with fabric as it helps to complement my outfit and sometimes, i give it out to friends and my niece, they love it so much and appreciate what i do. This hair band is different from the ones i have made before and im very sure as soon as i use it there will be someone out there who will definitely want to have it.

Let me show you the simple process taken to achieve this simple and beautiful hair band

For the long tail, i measured and cut out 12 x 12" of this poka dot chiffon fabric, it was and seen round the edges

It was folded in a triangle shape to locate the middle and it was folded on each side to the mid point on both sides

I took my hand needle and thread to run a long stitch at the middle from one point to the other

The thread was used to tie it together to make the long tail as intended

For the bow, i measured and cut out another piece of black fabric measuring 7 x 14" it was folded in two and sewn together

It was turned inside out and i folded both sides to the middle

I used my hand needle and thread to run a long stitch at the middle and it was secure together to make the bow.

I placed the bow and long tail together which was secure together with thread

For the elastic casing, i cut out a long piece of fabric measuring 1.5 x 20" it was folded and sewn together after which it was turned inside out

I measured an elastic band of 0.5 x 7" and inserted it it the elastic casing

I used my gum to add the elastic band to the two bow made

To cover the middle of the bow, i cut out a small piece of fabric measuring 3 x 2" it was sewn and turned inside out

Finally, it was used to secure the bow together and to cover the rough part. This is the final and beautiful outcome

As i couldn't take tge picture on myself, i decided to try it on my wig to see how beautiful it looks.

I hope you like the beautiful outcome as it can go with different outfit.

Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do have a great and lovely day.
