Its a beautiful day out here and i hope you all are doing great, i hring you all greetings from my sewing room as i will be Sharing with you the simple process of making this simple bow headband for myself after a very long time using a single piece of left over fabric.
I woke up this morning and i thought of going out to see a friend of mine who gave birth recently, it's been over a month now since i went to pay her a visit, after taking care of the necessary things at home, i thought of what to wear and after which, i decided to make a something simple to complement my outfit since i didn't want to tie a scarf or a cap that will cover the whole of my hair and its has really been awhile since i made something for myself, this is what i came up with.
This simple headband was made with a single piece of fabric for the bow and head band, read below to see how i used my creativity to achieve this beautiful design and how nice it looks on me.
Lets get started with the cutting and sewing process
I had this piece of fabric from the outfit i made for one of my clients, its a very stretchy fabric and it's so perfect for the headband i intend to make, from it, i measured and cut out 33 x 6"
It was folded in two and i sew on it on a straight line from one end to the other
After sewing, it was turned inside out with the seam line at the middle
It was folded in two from one end to the other and was sewn to secure both ends together
It was turned to the right side and from the sewn edge, i measured 5" and rule a line on it
It was taken to the sewing machine and i sew on the straight line
The sewn part was opened on the other and i used thread to tie it together as it was folded together and secure it.
To cover the rough part, i cut out a small piece of 3 x 2" it was folded and sewn together
It was sewn and turned inside out
After which it was used to cover the rough part of the bow and sewn together
The excess were trimmed off and it was turned to the right side. This is the final and beautiful outcome of my bow headband.
The headband was used on my hair and it's looking so lovely, i hope you like the simplicity and beautiful outcome.
