My love for hair band for my nieces and little children around me has made me to develop interest in making different types of beautiful hair band for them, this has highly improved my sewing skills and has also made me to be the children favorite small mummy, i will be sharing with you today this simple hair band i made for one of the kids around as a gift and I'm sure you will like it, you can try to make this with the simple step by step process. All you'll need is pieces of fabrics of different colors, an elastic band, fiber to make it puffy, hand needle and thread with a sewing machine.
Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process on how to make this beautiful bow hair band with elastic band
I have 2 pieces of fabric of different colors and i measured 4 x 4" from one of the fabric while i measured 5 x 5" from the other.
It was folded in two and i marked 0.5" on both sides at the top and it was connected to the bottom, it was repeated on the other fabric as well.
It was taken to the sewing machine and i sew on the lines i marked on both fabrics leaving an opening where it can be turned inside out
After sewing, it was turned inside out through the opening on both fabrics
I brought my fiber out and i filled it in each of the fabric through the opening i left unsewn
The small one was placed on the bigger one and it was sewn and secured together with my hand needle and thread
For the elastic casing, i measured and cut out 2 x 20" it was folded in two, sewn together, turned inside out with an elastic band of 7" inserted in it
The elastic band was sewn to the double bow and was finally covered at the middle with a small piece i cut, sew and turned inside out.
