Hello everyone
Happy beautiful weekend to you all in this great community @hivediy i hope you are all doing great and having a great time, its weekend and i hope you also have a lot of things to catch up with especially have a good rest after a busy week, well for me, today is for me to do alot of sewing for the children around me, i will be sharing a lot of things that i will be making for the children as school resumes and i hope you will learn and appreciate these things as I share them with you. Today, i will be sharing a pencil casing a made for my neighbor's son for school.
School resumes this week Monday but the children around usually adds 1 week to their break without any tangible reasons, it is what is it, so they will all resume school fully on Monday and will also need some items for resumption and this is one of it, a pencil casing for the safe keeping of pen and other writing material it can accommodate.with a zipper to secure the items in it
Join me as i quickly take you through the simple cutting and sewing process
From my pieces of scrap fabric, i measured and cut out 10 x 7" with interfacing.
The interfacing was ironed on the main fabric and it was placed on a lining to cut out same shape
I placed a zipper on the main fabric with the lining on it and it was sewn together on both sides after which it was top stitched on the right sides
I cut out 3 x 7" of fabric which was folded and sewn together to make the handle
The zipper was folded to the middle and it was sewn together on both sides with the handle in it
The excess zipper was trimmed out and it was turned to the right side through the zipper opening
This is the final and beautiful outcome, i hope you like the simplicity and how useful tjis can be for the kids, i have some of my pen well arranged in it to see how nice it looks.
You can make this for your kids as well and im sure they will like it.
