Greetings fellow travelers and adventure lovers, I always say that owning a Drone is a very fun alternative to get to know places from other angles, something I have already demonstrated on my blog is that seeing Roman Ruins from above gives us a perception of what the architecture of cities was like in ancient times, something that we cannot see in detail at first glance. Today I visited a village called "Leceia" that hides a very interesting past, being one of the oldest places where the first settlers lived in Portugal.🌍🚩

I'd like to add to the information about why we should visit places like these: many of them are free or affordable, paying a maximum of 2 euros because they're subsidized by the municipalities; therefore, it's budget-friendly tourism! It's also fun to fly a drone over these spaces, or at least when there are no restrictions; there's no better way to learn about a city's history than by visiting ancient settlements.🌍🚩
¡Me gustaría agregar sobre la información del porqué tenemos que visitar lugares como estos es que muchos de ellos son gratis o económicos pagando máximo 2 euros porque son subsidiados por los municipios, por tanto, es turismo económico! Además que es divertido pilotear él drone encima de estos espacios o al menos cuando no hay restricciones; no hay mejor forma de aprender sobre la historia de una ciudad que visitando los asentamientos antiguos.🧔🏻♂️⛰️

Carlos Ribeiro was the person who discovered these ruins at the beginning of the 19th century. It is located on the right side of the slope of the "ribera de barcarena". Visually, we can see the entrance of the Tejo River. This position, at this high point and being next to the Ribera, offered the settlers unlimited resources for long periods of time. 20 years of work, and this "Castro de Leceia" being the most studied archaeological site in Lisbon, gathered information about houses and defensive structures from different periods.🚩🌍

The oldest recorded buildings at the "Castro de Leceia" date back to the second Neolithic period, or the Stone Age, more than 3,300 years BC, spanning a total of more than 6,000 years of history! There is evidence of a significant period of abandonment at the end of the Chalcolithic period, which would be equivalent to the Bronze Age.🌍📍

Radiocarbon dating indicates that the settlement was very productive at the agricultural and pastoral level. The lands were fertile and allowed for the cultivation of many resources. The settlers also took advantage of the river for fishing and mollusc extraction, forming a practically omnivorous diet. Some of the objects found from 2200 BC were found in the Barcarena gunpowder factory where I came and I am showing you those photos.🚩🌍
Las pruebas de radiocarbono indican que el poblado fue muy productivo a nivel agro-pastoral, las tierras eran fértiles y permitieron la siembra de muchos recursos, además los pobladores también aprovecharon el río para la pesca y la extracción de moluscos, formando una dieta prácticamente omnívora, algunos de los objetos encontrados del 2200a.C los encontramos en la fabrica de polvora de Barcarena donde vine y te muestro esas fotos.👨🏻🏫⛰️
