Greetings fellow travelers, I want to leave you a post to show you where I am at the moment. We decided to take a few days of vacation in the North of Portugal, almost on the border with Spain, in a beautiful village called "Montealegre." I made many stops and visited so many beautiful things, but one of my favorites is this waterfall in a village called "Pitões das Junias." Enjoy my short post. 🏔️

There is a very small village between two mountain ranges in the north of Portugal at more than 1100 meters high and which is famous for its snowfall in winter, within this warm village we will find a waterfall which is available all year round and which we can enjoy as a family, I discovered it by chance on Gmaps while looking for places of tourist interest on my trip, and as I saw that it had good reviews I decided to take a chance, in total it is only 20km from the village of Sezelhe which is where I am staying.⛺🚩
Existe una aldea muy pequena entre dos sierras al norte de Portugal a mas de 1100 metros de altura y que es famosa por sus nevadas en invierno, dentro de esta calurosa aldea conseguiremos una cascada la cual esta disponible todo el ano completo y que podremos disfrutar en familia, yo la descubri por casualidad en Gmaps mientras buscaba locales de interes turisticos en mi viaje, y como vi que tenia buenas resenas decidi arriesgar, total son solo 20km desde la aldea de Sezelhe que es donde me hospedo.🏔️🧭
I'm like an HIVE ambassador haha, I've already traveled to many countries and quite a bit of ground in Portugal, but we always need to be active, so as not to lose the rhythm I brought my laptop on vacation and while it's 10:56 p.m. I'm creating content while I enjoy a nice cold cup of tea, the first impact when parking the vehicle and walking 1km to the waterfall is the landscape, we are totally surrounded by mountains, we will possibly go down to 500 meters which is where the natural waterfall is born.🤭🌍
Soy como un embajador de HIVE jaja, ya recorrio muchos paises y bastante terreno en Portugal, pero necesitamos siempre estar activos, para no perder el ritmo me traje mi laptop a mis vacaciones y mientras son las 22.56 estoy creando contenido mientras me deleito de una taza de te bien fria, el primer impacto al estacionar el vehiculo y caminar 1km hasta la cascada es el paisaje estamos totalmente rodeados de montanas, posiblemente bajaremos hasta los 500 metros que es donde nace la cascada natural.😍😍☀️

The waterfall has a very short trail of less than a kilometer, we will go through some wooden stairs that would be the most beautiful part because we will also enjoy a viewpoint towards the Serra de Geres, the waterfall is born in the river "ribeiro do campesinho" is approximately 30 meters high and is not among the highest in the country but is quite a spectacle for the landscape, further ahead will flow into a lake.🌍📍

La cascada tiene un sendero muy corto con menos de un kilometro, iremos a pasar por unas escaleras de madera que seria la parte mas bonita porque tambien disfrutaremos de un mirador hacia la Sierra de Geres, la cascada nace en el rio "ribeiro do campesinho" tiene aproximadamente unos 30 metros de altura y no esta entre la mas alta del pais pero es todo un espectaculo por el paisaje, mas adelante ira a desembocar en un lago.🗺️🚩

One of the things that catches our attention when we read about the waterfall is the various stories that are wrapped around this wooden bridge and the forest. For hundreds of years, local people believed that here in the forest lived a goblin who controlled the nature and the force of the water from the waterfall.👨🦯➡️🌄
Una de las cosas que nos llama la atencion cuando leemos sobre la cascada es varias historias que estan envueltas en este puente de madera y el bosque durante cientos de anos las personas locales creian que aqui en el bosque vivia un duende que controlaba la naturaleza y la fuerza del agua de la cascada🧭🏔️
From here you can already see a little of the waterfall but I have some bad news, it turns out that like all the waterfalls in Portugal they are produced by the melting of many peaks, and since it is summer there is nothing to help maintain the flow of water so it is normal to see them quite dry and well do not expect something "spectacular" because you will not be able to take advantage of the place,🚩🌍
Desde aqui ya se puede apreciar un poco la cascada pero tengo un poco de malas noticias, resulta ser que como todas las cascadas de Portugal son producidas con el deshielo de muchos picos, y al ser verano no hay nada que ayude a mantener la corriente de agua por tanto es normal verlas bastante secas y bueno no te esperes algo "espectacular" porque no podras sacarle provecho al sitio.🚙🚵♀️

Arrival at the waterfall🌍🗺️/ Llegada a la cascada🧭🚩
This is a clear example that visiting waterfalls in Portugal must be done in spring, especially in the months of April when there is a lot of rain. As you can see in the photo, the waterfall is not clearly visible. The place is beautiful, as are the views, but the waterfall itself is almost without water. I even have the feeling that in a few more weeks it will be empty.🌍🚩
Esto es un claro ejemplo que visitar cascadas en Portugal si o si tiene que ser en primavera mas en los meses de abril con muchas lluvias, como puedes ver en la foto no se observa con detalles la cascada, el sitio es bonito y las vistas pero la cascada en si esta casi sin agua, tengo hasta el presentimiento que mas unas semanas y queda vacia,🏔️🤭
