I know Lousa like the back of my hand. I've hiked almost all the trails here. The paths connect with each other, which is interesting because if you connect them and make a long route, you can walk the entire riverbank in one day. It must be more than 20 km of trails and a long 8 hours, but you won't regret it! Getting here is usually recommended by your own vehicle, but don't worry; there's public transportation in Salemas, and from there it's just a few kilometers to walk to a village called Fontelas.🌄🚩
Conozco Lousa como la "palma de mi mano" ya hice casi todos los senderos que estan aqui, los caminos se conectan unos con los otros y esto es interesante porque si los unes y trazas una ruta larga puedes recorrer toda la ribera en un dia debe ser mas de 20km de caminos y unas largas 8 horas, pero no te arrepentiras! Llegar aqui normalmente es recomendado en vehiculo propio pero no te alarmes hay transporte publico en Salemas y desde alli solo caminar unos kilometros hasta una aldea llamada Fontelas.⛰️🗺️

From here our adventure began, we began passing through a small village called "Murteira" south of "Fontela" from here to the riverbank and the mountain area it is a 2 hour walk, we wanted to take some photos of some of the architecture of the village so you can see how old and beautiful it is.🧭🗺️

Murteira is a typical village in the middle of nowhere, very far from the center of Lisbon. We didn't find any top restaurants or local accommodation, so it's a place you just pass through. However, if you're walking, it's worth stopping and seeing how people lived in the mid-18th century, which is what it must have been founded as. The oldest record dates back to 1886, but it's almost certain that small populations already inhabited the land at the beginning of the 18th century. This theory cannot be proven.🗺️🧭🚩
Murteira es la típica aldea en medio de la nada muy lejos del centro de Lisboa, no conseguimos restaurantes top, alojamiento local, o sea es un local de paso, pero si vamos caminando vale la pena detenernos y ver como vivían las personas en mediados del siglo XVIII que es lo que debe tener de fundación, el registro más antiguo data de 1886, pero es casi probable que pequeñas poblaciones ya habitaban las tierras en principios del siglo XVIII, no se puede probar esta teoría.😍🧔🏻♂️👨🏻🎓

One of the fun things about these hikes is that you discover places you didn't even know existed because they're so small they don't appear on maps, and that's fantastic. For example, I passed by this village called "Casal do Chacoso" and I only saw about five houses. It's a very small place, and it looked like farmland.🌍📍

Una de las cosas divertidas de estas caminatas es que conoces lugares que ni sabias que existian porque son tan pequenos que no aparecen en los mapas y esto es fantastico, por ejemplo pase por esta aldea llamada: "casal do chacoso" y apenas vi unas cinco casas es algo super pequeno, tenia aspecto de zonas de siembra.🗺️🚩
*We have reached the critical part of the walk and now we must climb a couple of hills until we reach the road (EN539-1). This information is also good because it is a reference in case you get lost; this is one of the only streets that will take you to Fontelas.🚩🧭*

Technically we are very close to the mountain range, in fact you can already see some mountains in the distance since we are in a valley about 150 meters high, I am now in: (Pte.Lousa)🚩🌄

This is the historic area of the trail where we pass by this cave. I read that it is millions of years old and was worked in the 6th century BC when the first settlers of Portugal established themselves on the Iberian Peninsula and lived in these caves. Some objects found here are in the Lisbon Natural Museum.🚩🌍
Esta es la zona historica del sendero cuando pasamos por esta cueva, lei que tiene millones de anos y fue trabajada en el siglo VI antes de cristo cuando los primeros pobladores de Portugal se establecieron en la peninsula iberica y vivieron en estas cuevas, algunos objetos hallados aqui se encuentran en el museo de Lisboa natural.⛰️🌄
