A few days ago I read a post on Facebook. A mother shared her concerns and worries about how rapidly female children are quick to mature these days. According to her, she will very much appreciate her daughter enjoying childhood and not being saddled with the responsibilities of being a teenager while still a child.

I am a mother, and I very much understand her.
In the past we had females experiencing puberty at a later age. There are some women who do not even get their periods until they are 18 years old. Unfortunately, today we see a child of 9 having her periods and possessing developed external biological features.

They become so cautious of their body that they forget what it means to be a child. I guess evolution is not always considerate, and it becomes a recipe for disaster when our knowledge, laws, and way of life lags behind.

The other day there was an argument on Facebook as to what age a girl could be married and then some people said biologically once her period starts. While they were correct, it felt really wrong knowing that there are children who experiences their period. So you see how endangering evolution could be? Well, away from the negative side, we still get to experience some positivity.

Agreeably, children these days possess higher levels of IQ. The other day my sister was prepping the children for their morning hygiene. After putting toothpaste for my daughter and her son, I saw her putting toothpaste on a smaller brush, and I wondered, so I questioned who it was for, and she said it's for the baby she had barely a year ago.

I laughed so hard because this baby possesses no teeth, and I asked her, What exactly do you want to brush in his mouth? She said not her but him. She went on to narrate to me how whenever it's time for morning hygiene, he crawls to where she's standing with her other son and raises his hand, demanding his toothbrush with his baby sounds.

I didn't believe my sister at first because how can a child who's not even up to a year know what it means to brush his mouth? I mean, even if he sees them doing it, how did he fathom the rationale behind their actions? Boy! I had a lot of questions, so I stood eagerly watching and waiting for my questions to be answered with the next action that will avail itself.

Lo and behold, the moment my sister handed the brush over to her baby, he grabbed and positioned it very well in his mouth and went on to brushing his gums.

I was speechless, to say the least, and that is one experience that I will never forget in a hurry. I went on to watch the baby and see how he actively involved himself with the activities of the other children. I watched my daughter grow and also the first child of my sister, and none of them showed this level of intelligence.

Well, gven the mother's concerns earlier plus the experience with my nephew, I wondered if maybe the food that we eat now, whose nutrients could also be passed down to infants through breastfeeding, and the placenta during pregnancy were responsible for the rapid growth that we see.

I know that change is constant and humans are evolving right before our very eyes but if we take a critical look at it, it's not even a natural process. I mean, with all the technological and genetical manipulations going on scientifically, God helps us all with how our future generations will turn out to be.
