Inspiration for Manipulation/Reblog Lottery DUO BONUS !

Welcome! In this post I share a coin I tried to tone artificially in an unusual way inspired by the altered coins I got from a private seller and recently shared on my blog.

What makes it different is the post processing, but more on that shortly.

So I started out with a very diluted solution of liver of sulfur in water, I made it fairly diluted to make the reaction slower to try and catch a desired tone.

As it was sitting in this mixture it started to change slowly once it looked a little golden I took it out and neutralized(stop the reaction) it in a baking soda and water bath.

I really loved how it turned out but now there was a next step I took a jewellery polishing block I worked it around the coins edge brining back the silver finish and I also went over the raised areas as well as tried to fill in some bits inside the instruments , I also did the same thing on the back.

I really love how it turned out it has a fairly uniform finish with some slight purple hues but they are a bit hard to capture on camera.

It's extra nice now if you ask me however it must remain sealed or it will continue to tarnish and can change it appearance .
