Stop Policing Start Rewarding: An Automated Fix for a Broken System

What is good folks so ya boy got a nice juicy vote from @honey-swap the other day... and first off, thanks for that dawg, appreciate it. but it got me thinking again about this whole ecosystem and what actually makes people want to show up and do the work. It ain't complicated. It's this. It's seeing that the effort you put in can actually get recognized, not just buried under a pile of dust or drama.

This is literally how you incentivize good content. you reward it. crazy concept, eh? instead of having this constant state of policing and downvote wars and people walking on eggshells... you just reward the stuff that's good. it makes people want to try harder, to make better posts, to actually contribute somethin of value to the chain. when you feel like you're just screaming into the void or gonna get slapped for some political reason... most people just give up. and i dont blame them.

I was ranting about this a few days ago... this whole system is backwards. we put all the burden on curators to be the police, the judges, and the jury for every single account. it's a thankless job and creates so much friction. I had this idea... what if the chain itself did some of the heavy lifting to deal with the leeches. imagine if the chain automatically monitored the inflow and outflow of hive... but on an individual account basis. so it looks at your account... are you powering up? are you bringing value in? or is your account just a one-way street... constantly powering down and dumping every single reward you get. the chain could assign a ratio to your account based on that activity. if you're a contributor, you're fine. but if you're a leech, just draining value... the chain automatically applies a multiplier to your rewards and throttles them. the system itself just nerfs your ability to drain the pool.

It would take the human drama out of policing reward farmers. no more need for these massive downvote crusades against people who are clearly just extracting value. the code just handles it quietly in the background. this would free people up to actually use their damn stake to find and reward good content instead of playing defense all day. it could bring some actual vitality back to this place. Of course, that ain't gonna fix everything. this place has a laundry list of other problems... a lot of other stuff we'd need to address. but maybe we save that for another time. you gotta fix the foundation before you start worrying about the paint job, eh?

@bitcoinman's bits of wisdom * Invest only what you can afford to lose and be mindful of the potential risks. * Unless you can accept delivery stay away from futures and stick to physical. * Leverage is a great tool for losing money fast. * Numismatics for the lows stick to smart stacking baby. * Be cautious of new schemes in crypto, like ICOs, DeFi, and NFTs, do your research before investing.
