Hello and welcome to week 4 of Blanchy's post of the week where I go about curating posts what haven't quite hit the dizzy heights of the same payout as a white middle class western male post on Hive. We have had many varying posts of the week starting off with "Cleaning the Toilet" in week 1 to displaying fruits at different angles from @nana-hive in week 2. Last week we curated a post from a Chinese man who wanted to get out of a military exercise and as eagled eye @valued-customer pointed out , he obtained liquid morphine from his Chinese pharmacy and probably spent the rest of his day off his head on cloud 9. Get me to China!! Anyway we move onto week 4 and we are looking at more of a statistic post than for all you number crunchers on Hive. The most is entitled Why Many Young Adults, Especially Men Are Single and Sexless
The post comes from an author called @kur8 who would post regularly enough. The post is currently on 6 cent.
The title of the post immediately attracted me into the post where the author explains how many young adults mainly men are not getting the ride.
Now to clear things up from the title before you @ me, some of the woke-ier individuals could have taken the author up the wrong way when he states "sexless" in the title. @oldsoulnewb had read from the title that the post was about Eunich's and decided to move on from it. Like a Ken Doll for example but no. This is not the case. The author means that young adults are single and sexually frustrated (with the adequate genitalia to partake in sexual activity if the situation arisen)
The post adds , as us skilled in the English language describes as a certain personification. A beautiful photo of a young male alone at the beach under a tree looking out into the dark blue moonlight. I presume this is an example of a sexless man under the tree otherwise it would be a photo of him in bed smiling smoking a cigarette.
The image is strong with blue being the predominant color. The young man sitting down is melancholy or feeling blue I would imagine. He probably has a certain blue movie on his mind. He more than likely has the famous sexless ailment also known in the west as blue balls for example such is his thirst. I love the way the author captures this in the photo. No sign of one of his hands either which is a bit unsettling but expertly done and discreet by the author. Excellent work @kur8 with the colour blue indicating sexless in men where as we all consider a sexless females colour to be red. He even describes the image.

Fabulous. I sometimes find a tree at a beach myself in the nighttime and wonder why I am not getting any. I know what is in your mind "He ain't gonna get his hole if he's sitting alone under a tree". But maybe this photo is after he tried every possible outlet! It could be after a night out on the prowl. Who knows? We read on
"Lei and South (2021) studied the reasons behind decreasing sexual interest among young American adults. The researchers studied 18 to 23-year-old participants who took part in the Transition to Adulthood Supplement of the Panel Study of Income Dynamics between 2007 and 2017."
Ok, a study, this is interesting. It's good to get the facts. Couple of men in white jackets standing outside a college entrance asking young people about their sex life. Anyway here at @blanchys curation corner we never argue about the facts.
"The research investigated how social routines together with financial conditions and personal life decisions affect the decreasing sexual activity rates among young adults. The researchers discovered that young people now form fewer romantic relationships as the primary reason for this trend. Young people today avoid dating which results in fewer chances for intimate relationships. Young adults face difficulties in becoming independent because of economic instability and low male earning potential which hinders their ability to establish romantic relationships."
Low male earnings hinders their ability to establish romantic connections??? Did you hear that @ladiesofhive. Ye's are all flousies who are only interested in a gentleman's money. THIS IS A REVELATION!!! Although the famous female band TLC do mention this issue back in the 90s in their hit song "No Scrubs". They were on the button years before any survey by Lei & South.

Ok what else did they find out from the study?
Young adults' lifestyle choices have become a significant contributing element to this trend. Young adults who dedicate their time to computer games experience reduced opportunities for social contact which results in fewer chances to date and have sexual relationships. The decrease in alcohol use has occurred at the same time as socialising and dating activities have become less common.
There are two factors to break down here. That the lads are too busy playing video games to be interested in sex. Slight comparisons to the black and white pandas that just couldn't be arsed to reproduce anymore, preferring to sleep and eat bamboo, so they nearly extinct themselves. It is not surprising. But for someone that has played Call of Duty or one of those games, I think a sniper rifle shot taking an enemy player out from a distance, is a mini orgasm.
The decrease in alcohol ...... Now there is definitely a good point here. Young people of today will never wake up in the morning and wonder who is beside them in the bed. They will never get so drunk that they end up running naked through a fountain and ending up with an ugly bloke. Which leads me onto the ugly blokes. Back in my day the ugly bloke had a chance. Now they have no chance. So in summary young women aren't getting shitfaced anymore so are not making any mistakes in the who they have sex with department. I will also put it to you that ugly women are more picky than ugly men but a study like this is very hard gather data on. I tried to interview a few "butter faces" once but I got punched in the face by both genders and ended up in hospital.
The four factors: relationship development, economic difficulties, digital usage and drinking habits, explain about 75% of the sexual inactivity among young adults.
Ok what is the other 25%? So video games , booze, lack of money which coincides with less romantic connections is accounting for 75%. I presume the rest is ones pulling of ones own plum, ones choking of ones own chicken, manual overides, marching the penguin, polishing the banister, beating the meat, oozing your noodle, spanking the monkey and so on and so forth. The author however does not expand on this.
Recent analysis further highlights this trend. A 2025 report by the Institute for Family Studies found that among young adult men aged 22-34, the percentage reporting no sexual activity in the past year rose dramatically, and the male virginity rate doubled over the last decade. This suggests that social, economic, and lifestyle factors disproportionately affect men, contributing to higher rates of sexual inactivity and solitude .
Overall , the research indicates that changing social patterns, personal behaviour and monetary difficulties create an environment in which young adults experience increased solitude while reducing their sexual activity, especially because these factors disproportionately affect men.
But how are they disproportionately affecting men? I don't get it. Does this mean that all women (good looking and ugly) are just dating lots of men that are financially secure and do not play video games which leaves the men that play video games all day and don't have a job sexless. This also employs that men who have money and do not play videogames have a massively high body count. If you are one of these guys you are probably getting more action than Mick Jagger or Julio Iglesias. In fairness if I was a lovely lady I would find a man who can't afford a new underpants playing videogames irresistible myself.
So in summary men if you want to have sex, put down the Playstation controller and get a job you bums and stop sitting under a tree crying about not getting any.

Now I know the current reader of my weekly curation posts are waiting for my first perfect 10/10 post in which I personally ring the top 20 witnesses to get them to give the post an 100% upvote but I did find a mistake unfortunately. The post would have been better if he used link tags rather than the link itself in the post. I am so sorry @kur8 so you don't get full marks this week but maybe next time but just be happy that you are now in the history books for @blanchy's post of the week!!
