George's was so taken aback by Hailey's aka @haileyposter post that he stumbled slightly and his crutches fell forward.
"This can't be" he said astonished while looking at Hailey's Shadowhunters post for the 5th time. "This girl has no shadow, she truly is the chosen one!!!!!"
"We have to be careful of our approach and not startle the girl" repeated Eileen who emptied her catheter in the G5's toilet as she spoke. "What is the plan when we get there?"
"I have our European chopper on standby in Alicante" said Claude.
"This can take us to her location." "Let's do what we always do and land in the closest place to her residence." "Agreed but lets be stealthy about it" We are the Shadow Hunters after all.
A few hours later Hailey was finishing off another post. This time for a restaurant review where she was bound to pick up a couple of nice upvotes from the whale who likes his food. She was still on cloud 9 after receiving a huge vote from the Shadow Hunters on her first post in that Community. But the community had 4,229 subscribers and over 200 active users so she was surprised how much of an upvote she had got. This would go straight to her HBD savings to build up her passive income. She kept thinking what her dad had uttered on his deathbed but she did not get the end bit. But how bad could it be. She posted a few shadows and got $100 in rewards. Big deal.
She heard a bit of a racket in the air and seen a helicopter coming into land in a patch of grass beyond the woodland area which was very strange. She walked out her back garden into the wooded area. She her a strange sound coming from the woods. A zip like sound in short bursts. She scanned the woods to take a closer look.
Zooooooommmmm, Zeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz nnnnnnnnnnrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
But what was it??? She thought she had seen a large lady in a mobile scooter at one stage going from tree to tree but she must have been hallucinating. A mobile scooter could not go at those speeds. Probably just her mind playing tricks.
She walked back into the house and the glass of water she was holding fell out of her hand. There was Maureen on her mobile scooter coming out of the shadows.
"How did you get in?...................... This is my house .........................." shouted a frightened Hailey.
"It's OK dear, You know me, it's Maureen from Hive"
"Maureen!!!!! What are you doing here?, how did you get in?, I don't even have wheelchair access"
"That is not important dear. It is the ways of the Shadowhunters."
Just then Maureen shone a bright flashlamp on Hailey for a moment
"So the prophets are true, the girl has no shadow, this is quite the find." gasped Maureen trying to keep her composure.
"How would you like a spin on a G5" asked Maureen.
"Ahhhh well I was gonna go on my daily treasure find around my local town again and post it later this evening."
"We will give you 10,000 Hive if you come with us" explained Maureen.
"To Hivefest" asked Hailey.
"No Hivefest is just for people sponging off the DHF" said Maureen. "We are the Community who really run Hive"
Come on missy, there are more of us to meet. Angela , Claude , Mary and George, Chester are waiting for you. You know them all.
"Deaf Angela?"
"Amm she doesn't like to be called that but yes she is deaf."
"Wheelsie Claude." Again doesn't like that name but yes he is leg disabled.
Mary with the hook for a hand? "Yes that Mary"
And George with the weird head? Ahhh yes again you need to be a bit more discreet young lady.
"We will explain when we get you on the plane, we have a proposition for you." "Meet you at the helicopter in 1 hour" "Zooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"
Maureen??? MAUREEEEEENNNNN????
Maureen was gone leaving just the smell burned rubber in her mist.
Hailey found it very weird that Maureen would just appear in her apartment like this. It was her that was whizzing in and our of the trees but how the feck did she get in past her? It was actually intriguing. It was a small enough back door and she found it hard to explain that Maureen who was a big unit could fit with the disability scooter through that door.
Since she was offer 10,000 Hive for being whisked off on a private jet she started packing up her bags. Maybe it was one of those scam conferences in South America she was going to. The figures matched but she had a little tinge of excitement in her gut.
With her backpack packed, she locked up her house and went to get the chopper. The helicopter was getting ready to leave and Mary with the hook for a hand was hanging off the side of the chopper. Her good hand waiting for Hailey to grab onto. Hailey jumped on the helicopter. "Welcome to the gang Hailey" said Mary while she unhooked her hook from the helicopters harness.
The Shadow Hunters G5 was on the tarmac . The pilots saluted the motley crew as they entered the plane and took care of Maureens disability scooter into the hatch. Maureen wobbled onto the plane. They were surprised to see that the extra passenger was a fully functional 20 year old that did not look like she was missing any limbs. It was the first time this had ever happened. Well except for Chester. But one pilot spotted that the girl had no shadow and he started trembling. All of a sudden this flight had become very very important. They had finally found the ONE.
The gang limbed and stumbled their way to their seats just like the everyday rehab group going for a coffee with their carers. They were like penguins or seals out of the water in the light but in the shadows they were like cheetahs. It was uncanny how Maureen struggled to sit into her seat considering how she accessed Hailey's house from behind the shadows. Hailey thought she had met everyone but Chester came out of the shadows like a floating vampire with an aura about him. Just like Hailey it didn't appear that Chester had any physical disability to be a true shadow hunter but rumour had it that Chester had no willy.

"Well my dear the future of Hive is in jeopardy and the Shadow hunters were set up to make sure it does not fail. Now we do not downvote. We do not get into politics. We operate in the Shadows. We made sure wars do not happen. However we get our hands dirty in a way that most Hive users do not."
"Why don't you complain against the blatent drain of the blockchains resources?"
"No my dear , we do not argue with anyone in the Shadow Hunters. We just take action in the real world."
"So you meet these people and ask them to stop? Those spongers deserve a good talking to"
"Well we meet these people but unfortunately most of these people have unfortunate accidents around the time we meet them." "You will have to read between the lines my dear."
"OH MY GOD YOU KNOCK THEM OFF?????BUT HOWWWWW???" MAUREEN COULDNT FIT THROUGH THE PLANE'S DOOR, MARY HAS A HOOK FOR A HAND, CLAUDE IS IN A WHEELCHAIR AND DEAF ANGELA IS ...WELL ... DEAF.
Oh Contrare Hailey. Maureen is our most stealtiest operator. Didn't she appear in your house if I am not mistaken. Deaf Angela is a sniper. The best in the world. Better than even Eddie Redmayne. Mary is lethal with that hook by the way. And Claude is our explosives and poison expert. There are many more of us.
"AND WHO DO YOU KILL??? asked a shocked Hailey
"Only the people who threaten Hives existence. Nobody innocent" "For example last week we took out a group of 10 spammers in Nairobi. They had taken 50,000k in rewards from Hive. But these are just small operators. We have our own deck of cards with a list of our top ten most wanted. But we cannot get to them. They are too clever so far and have 24 hour security. This is where you come in. We hope to train you up and teach you the ways of the Shadow Hunters. Would you be interested in this? You can walk right off this plane if you say no."
Unbeknownst to Hailey , Mary started screwing on her serrated knife hook in the distance.
"Well I have never killed anyone before but I do love the Hive blockchain. I dunno you guys"
Maureen started edging her over flabby leg to the edge of the plane seat ready to strike.
"One question that will make up my mind. Was my father @weeklyposter a Shadowhunter"?
Yes Hailey. Your father was a very very boring man and posted his "Weekly Thoughts" post for 10 years without fail. He was perfect for us so we recruited him like we did you. Unfortunately while trying to take out Justin Son he got too cocky and came out of the shadows. He reported to us that someone kept leaving bananas at his door so he ate one and it wasn't long before he died. I am so sorry for your loss.

"Wow that is quite a list," gasped Hailey. "The shadows see everything," said Chester. "Not even the uppercrusts are safe,"said Hailey. "We are above those people. Hive is not only just for whales. We are the deep state of Hive. We operate in the background, the shadows.

We are going to start at number 10 because rumour has it the Steem arch villain haejin and his falcon who is trying to escape(again) are living in a filthy shack close to here in the Canaries.

A sigh of relief went around the plane.
So set a course for Tenerife. Here is our number 10 target. The Steem arch villian haejin. We have chased this guy for years now and he has escaped us whereever he may be from Hungary to Barcelona and now Tenerife. He just keeps moving. Here he is with his hawk in his ramshack in the hills. This guy is tough. He has lived in -10 conditions in a house with 3 walls . But now he lives in 40 degrees.
"Are those flies everywhere?" "What about the smell?" Intel suggests that the hawk has got used to the smell."
Please be aware the hawk will attack if it thinks its primary food source is going to get murdered. Hailey we did not tell you this yet but you have no shadow and this is extremely advantageous for this one especially when there is a bird involved. Deaf Angela will be your mark. One word of warning haejin has been masquerading as a homeless since 2019 so he may have developed the fighting skills of a hobo which is dirty tricks. Do not leave your guard down at your peril. haejin is crafty. He knows the shadow hunters are after him which is why he chose to live near the equator. He stays in the sun the whole time as pre caution. He sacrifices a big burnt head on him for his own safety which is quite frankly admirable. He also loves that bird of his like a child. We will be watching Hailey.
