God concentrate on a true relationship with those who love and obey him. The foundation of Christianity prohibit worshipping other gods or treating idols.
In the book of Isaiah, the lord said that those who persist in idolatry will not grow in their spiritual life, and also they are unable to see or understand the idol they worship. Focus on God, not where comfort or created things become idols, instead of God being the source of your true joy. We are not supposed to worship idols, we are not supposed to put anything above God, he is supposed to be first in our lives, anything we put before God is an idol.
God does not listen to idol worshippers because he has already included it in his commandments in the book of Exodus 20:30 thou shalt have no other gods before me. Idols are fake gods that people especially unbelievers believe in. Idol worshippers goes against what God truly wants from us that is one if the reason he doesn't listen to those who obey him as well as those who are honestly seeking him. Proverbs 15: 29 says God hears the prayers of the righteous.
