This quick back and forth in Discord, albeit imaginary (yet again something that likely went on within smaller circles of friends), made me grin and groan at the same time. Grin, because I did get my hands on one gym bag early. Groan, because I didn’t grab a second. If you’ve been in WOO long enough, you know these spikes can come out of nowhere and this one’s tied directly to the new gym bag functions finally going live.
When the original bags sold out, there was a scramble. People were paying top dollar in WOO tokens just to get a shot at whatever was inside. And even though back then we didn’t know the gameplay impact, the sheer hype kept prices high.
Now? The market’s reacting all over again, but this time it’s not just hype — it’s math. Items in the bag are consumable, meaning they have a lifespan. Once you use them, they’re gone, and if you want more, well… you need another bag. That’s where the token economy gets interesting.
Why the Update is Moving Prices
- Scarcity — There’s a fixed number of original bags. No new mint means supply can’t grow.
- Demand loop — Consumables create a cycle of use → depletion → restock demand.
- Speculation — Some holders aren’t even opening their bags yet, betting that unopened ones will be worth more down the line.
I’ll be honest, it’s fascinating to watch. WOO’s economy has always been a mix of gameplay fun and real-world market behaviour, but this gym bag rollout just proved how closely the two are linked.
The funny thing? All it took was one comment about prices jumping to remind everyone that in WOO, even a humble gym bag can turn into an asset with its own market drama.
