HELLO to all Splinterlands readers of my humble blog.👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 Welcome to yet another week of the "new" iteration of the Splinterlands Weekly Challenges 😜. The "old" Battle Challenges are now a thing of the past (at least for now?) and they have been replaced with this week's "Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Unsung Heroes".
For any old Hivers/Splinterlands players who've just come back and are confused, fret not! Even with the name and format tweaks, right at it's core, battles are still the foundation of these posts.
In this week's edition of my Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Unsung Heroes, I will do something drastically different from my usual battle showcases. Instead of war, I will become a peaceful teacher showing all new players how to most effectively navigate the topic of "Unsung Heroes".
Every week, Splinterlands throws us these community challenges that make me stop, scratch my head, and think: “Okay, which card have I been quietly leaning on while everyone else is too busy drooling over legendaries with wings and sparkles?” And this week’s Unsung Heroes prompt couldn’t have landed better — because I’m ready to finally give credit to a card that’s been sitting patiently in my lineup, turning battles around in ways that don’t always show up in the highlight reels: Possibilus the Wise.
That being said, here's some tips and tricks from Yours Truly which will hopefully help any new player who comes across this guide. Read on to find out more! 😜
No matter! I present to you — Unsung Heroes.
So without further ado, let me introduce how best to navigate this seemingly impossible task to you! 🎉
⚔️🛡️ Unsung Heroes: Why Possibilus the Wise Deserves More Love 🛡️⚔️
With all that being said, here is how I would advice ALL players on how you can capitalize on some of these simple strategies!
Possibilus the Wise is a leviathan from the future that has adapted to rule on both land and sea. His mission is to find and secure the lost sacred rune tablets of his race that were shattered into pieces and strewn across time and space by the entity known only as Desolation. In his present time, a war rages on his home world of Nyuuldus, but Possibilus was tasked with traveling into the past and the future to find these runestone fragments and return with them to defeat Desolation. When the Chaos Legion opened its rift, many of the fragments were cast through the dimensions and scattered across the Splinterlands. Possibilus followed, opening his own portal through time and space. Upon his arrival, he was attacked by the Chaos Legion forces, and members of the guild Team Possible came to his aid. However, the portal Possibilus created was destroyed during the attack. Now, he has offered his considerable strength in fighting against the invaders in return for assistance locating his precious runestones. With each one he finds, his power grows. His only hope is to find enough to harness the power capable of creating a portal to return to Nyuuldus and save his race. Possibilus the Wise has formidable psionic powers, which include psychokinesis and telepathy. When he enters battle, his runic armor glows and his runic disc spins, emitting a disorienting light. He then attacks with his psychokinetic power and ferocious bite and talons while communicating telepathically with his allies to lead them to victory.
From Splinterlands Lore on POSSIBILUS THE WISE
Possibilus The Wise is a Legendary card released during the Chaos Legion expansion. It has definitely found it's place in many Water decks given its availability and usefulness. It's effects on the battlefield are ❤️+2 HEALTH❤️ and it grants the TRAMPLE & REACH ability to all your units. It's summoning cost is, like all other Chaos Legion Legendary Summoners, 6 🧪MANA🧪.
The stat buffs it gives are nothing out of the ordinary, so at first glance, he might look pretty bland. However, all of it combined makes this Summoner one of the strongest in the game!
Reach allows any melee unit on the 2nd spot of your lineup to also attack. While Trample allows your units to launch another attack if it manages to land the killing blow. You can see then how Possibilus has the ability to multiply your army's damage 😱. The battle will very quickly turn against the opponent with a few well placed attacks.
I would venture to say that with some rulesets in play, we need all the extra abilities that we can get from our Summoners. Add one and one together and I hope it's glaringly obvious by now that Possibilus is a match made in heaven for this situation. Possibilus gives that extra bit of additional health for your units to survive a hit that might kill most units. Furthermore, his Reach and Trample abilities have the potential to punish teams even further if a unit gets killed! There is no stopping the monstrous Possibilus from devastating the entire battlefield! 🔥
This could make all the difference if the battle comes down to the wire where the slightest advantage is the fine line between victory or defeat! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 This is definitely what I'd consider game changing! 😱😱😱
🔮 Why Possibilus the Wise is Slept On
Let’s be honest. When people think of Water Summoners, they usually jump straight to Kelya Frendul for the speed and armor edge, or Alric Stormbringer (classic nuker, may he forever melt our Bronze opponents). But Possibilus the Wise? He often gets side eyed like the quirky uncle in the family. “Oh, that guy… the one with Reach and Trample?”
Yes. That guy.
And let me tell you, that guy is absolutely bonkers if you give him the right toys.
-
Reach opens doors. Suddenly, your beefy second slot is no longer a passive bystander. Stick a bruiser there, and you’ve effectively doubled your frontline damage.
-
Trample turns momentum into steamroll. If your heavy hitter overkills an enemy, it doesn’t stop — it keeps charging through.
-
+2 Health feels subtle but saves runs. Water already has a lot of slippery units, but Possibilus gives them more breathing room against blast damage, sneak chains, and poison ticks.
He isn’t flashy like Alric. He doesn’t turbo charge like Kelya. But what he does is give your lineup staying power and layered offense, which in certain matchups, is priceless.
⚔️ A Battle Where Possibilus Shined
Picture this: 46 mana cap, Earth vs Water, rulesets were Close Range and Equalizer. I knew my opponent was going to lean into heavy Earth melee (because, let’s be real, who doesn’t when Equalizer is on?).
Here’s what I rolled out under Possibilus:
- Tank: Diemonshark (classic anchor, plus Trample synergy potential).
- Slot 2: Deeplurker (with Reach from Possibilus — now chomping early).
- Slot 3: Coastal Sentry (double strike + potential Trample chain = chef’s kiss).
- Backline: River Hellondale (for Resurrect), Merdaali Guardian (heals), and a little chaos filler with Supply Runner.
The moment the battle started, my opponent’s Grund looked terrifying. But Possibilus turned the tide. Here’s why:
-
With Reach, my Coastal Sentry was active from round one, doubling the pain.
-
Trample triggered TWICE in round two, chain wiping their midline after Diemonshark softened the first target.
-
That extra +2 health? It gave my Merdaali Guardian just enough time to keep my tank alive through blast pressure.
By round four, my opponent’s Earth army had crumbled, and my backline was still intact. Without Possibilus, my Sentry would’ve sat idle until the tank dropped, and I wouldn’t have had the momentum to punish their setup before it snowballed.
💡 Tips for Using Possibilus Effectively
If you’re curious to try him out, here are my go-to tips:
-
Always pair with high damage melee bruisers. Coastal Sentry, Deeplurker, Uraeus (if splashing Neutral), or even a Pelacor Mercenary when budgets are tight — Reach + Trample multiplies their impact.
-
Stack sustain behind your tank. Because battles often last longer under Possibilus, healing or armour repair lets his health buff pay dividends.
-
Look for high mana matches. Possibilus shines when you can actually field multiple melee beaters. In low mana, you’ll feel pinched.
-
Exploit Equalizer and Heavy Hitters. These rulesets amplify his strengths — Equalizer makes even squishy Reach attackers durable, while Heavy Hitters gives you more chances to proc Trample damage chains.
🌟 Final Thoughts
Possibilus the Wise might not be the poster child of Water splinters, but he’s the kind of summoner that rewards creative lineup building. He doesn’t hand you easy mode speed or damage buffs. Instead, he gives you tools — Reach, Trample, health — and says, “Go make something clever with this.” And when you do, the results are glorious!
So here’s my plea: stop sleeping on Possibilus. Dust him off, throw him into some battles, and discover how fun it is when your second slot becomes the real MVP.
💭🧐💭Ending Thoughts💭🧐💭
I definitely can appreciate Unsung Heroes and how it changes the dynamics of usual gameplay. This is one of those situations which can be turned into a huge advantage if surrounded with the proper strategies. The role it brings to the battlefield will give a player the edge in squeezing out every tiny advantage to get the win. 👍🏻
I hope this article has given you some insight into its potential. 😉
