Helloo :)
My wife's family surprised us and came from Istanbul. We decided to take them to North Macedonia. They were curious because they had never been there before. When we arrived, they were looking around with admiration. Maybe they took hundreds of photos :)
North Macedonia is a very historical country. This is the capital Skopje. The most popular city for tourists. They love Alexander the Great and you can see it clearly in the heart of the city :)
A river runs through the middle of the city. It's called the Vardar River. And there is a "Stone Bridge" over this river. The history of this bridge goes back a long time. They say it was built in the 1400s. Of course it was restored over time. Generally, Albanians live on one side of this river and Macedonians live on the other side. There are different beauties on both sides. They have different features from each other.
As you can see from the photos, there are a lot of statues here. They like to tell history. There are statues in the squares, on the buildings, on almost every corner.
We walked around the bazaar and there were a lot of handmade, Macedonian items. There were woven rugs, handmade sandals. We bought Macedonia-themed magnets and ornaments from the sellers for souvenirs.
You can see this by looking around. The people here were very kind to us. They didn't even pass in front of us every time we tried to take a photo :)
The weather was a bit cold but we kept walking around for hours.
Actually, I want to visit other cities in Northern Macedonia when the weather gets warmer.
I have heard that the city of Ohrid is very beautiful and when I go there I plan to share the beauty of the city with you.
The Balkans are full of historical beauties and I will visit the Balkans as much as I can and show you these places.
Our guests liked it very much, I hope you liked it too :)
Thank you for reading :)
