๐ป๐ป Happy gardening, everyone...
Allow me to take you to a virtual tour of our garden..
Today, i will show you our lush kamantigue flower (rose balsam) in our frontyard garden..i plant this flower two months ago and it grows really fast
This plant has a lot of traditional medicinal benefits...
๐ป๐ป let's start with the flowers..
the dried flowers can help relieve painful dysmenorrhea..
sun dry the flowers... boil the dried flowers and drink...
pounded fresh flowers can also be used to relieve a joint pain, swelling, rushes and small wounds.. in other countries they use it as a mouthwash.. haven't tried it ๐ ,
and my favorite of all is to use it as dye...
yes, you can pound the fresh flowers and then you need to squeeze the juice and apply it to your nails... voila!! you now have natural nail polish.. you can also use other colors, there are pink, purple, white... but I am so sad because we only have red.. I can't have multi-colored finger nails ๐คฃ.. just kidding, I'm a man ... ๐
next is the root
if you accidentally swallow fish bone or any small obect,, the roots and leaves can help you.. you just need to chew both of them and swallow ,, it will create a slimy texture that will help push the objects that you swallowed..
now, let's talk about the leaves
this is a popular alternative for treating warts. it can also help treat minor wounds, skin allergies same as the flower,,
you just need to crash the leaves and apply it directly to your wounds or affected skin..
you can use this as mouthwash to cure mouth sore or for bad breath,, because it has anti-bacterial properties...
lastly are the seeds..
they are used as medicine and can be used in cooking..
for medicine ,, according to my great grandparents,, you can eat the seeds raw or cook them to help clear your lungs,, it can improve your breathing,, it can relieve your cough,,
for cooking,, the seeds can be made as edible oil,,
and my second favorite use of this plant is, you can use this as earrings or necklace pendant,,
when i was a kid, i used to do this,, i collect all the young shoots and pop some of them one by one to separate the seeds from the shoot.. the shoots will curl up and i will put it on my ears or on my sister's ears.. we can put as many as we want on our ears,, don't think i'm gay, i just enjoyed playing with it with my sisters.. ๐
the other shoots that i didn't pop can be used as pendant for our vine necklace.. ๐
has anyone of you ever tried to do these exciting activities with a balsam plant?? please share some of your memories when you were young,, i might learn some tricks from you.. ๐
i hope you all love my kamatigue plant.. thank you for reading my post..
have a great day..
