In every corner of the plaza you can see the statues of Bacchus (the roman god of wine)this statues was made by Italian sculptor Francesco Riccardo Monti.. these statue known as the Bacchae,, effigies of the god,, and they appear to be mocking passersby with their grimaces and smirks,, reflecting the god's drunken and debauched personality...

At the right side of the plaza you can see a fountain with a statue of a boy holding a fish at the top of it.. i don't know what is the symbol or meaning of that fountain.. but when i research the the meaning...the statue represent the abundance and prosperity.. the fish are frequently associated with wealth,, good fortune,, and plentiful resources,, it is also a classical mythology,, interpreted as a putto or cherub.. common in classical and renaissance art.. often depicted with elements if nature,, the fish might allude to figures like cupid or a minor deity associated with water or the sea.. symbolized love, joy, or a connection to the aquatic realm..

You can also see the train in plaza libertad..it is symbolizes the region's illustrious past during the sugar industry's glory days.. as it represent the Alco 2-6-0 mugol steam locomotive that once transported sugarcanes for the panay relway system.. this train is a historical landmark that embodies the spirit of iloilo's heretage and its transition to a forward thinking city.. the restoration and presence of the train in plaza libertad is also represent the city's commitment to honoring its past while embracing modernity and progress...

The three hand fist structure is a symbol of the triumph of the Philippine republic over the spanish colonizer.. the clenched fist represents the unified filipino people in their fight for independence,, with each hand signifying the different branches of the revolutionary forces against the colonizer and also representing the three island of the country.. the luzon,, visayas, and mindanao..

In every plaza here in the philippines you will always see the monument of our national hero.. his name is Jose Protasio Rizal Mercado Y Realonda.. it is always put at the center of the plaza.. he gave his life for the independence of every filipino.. he is the author of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo who gave the other heroes and every filipino to unite and a reason to fight for the freedom of the country against the colonizer.. he was executed by firing squad of the spanish authorities on December 30, 1986 in luneta..
