¡Hola amigos viajeros, feliz día! Espero que se encuentren bien y que hayan tenido un día increíble. Por mi parte, me encuentro bastante bien gracias a Dios. Les cuento que hace poco tuve la oportunidad de conocer Usiacurí, un pequeño municipio del Atlántico que, aunque ya había escuchado nombrar muchas veces y tenía muchas ganas de conocer desde hace tiempo, no fue si no hasta el fin de semana pasado que tuve la oportunidad. Nunca imaginé que fuera tan encantador este pequeño rincón, fue una de esas salidas que uno hace sin muchas expectativas y termina sorprendiéndose con la experiencia.
Luego de viajar en carro unas dos horas prácticamente, llegamos a Usiacurí dónde el verdadero recorrido comenzó, iniciamos con una caminata tranquila por el centro del pueblo, donde se respira una mezcla de historia, arte y calma. Visitamos la iglesia de Santo Domingo de Guzmán, una estructura preciosa que se impone en lo alto del cerro y que tiene una vista muy bonita de la mayoría del pueblo. Pero lo que más me gustó del camino hacia ella fueron las escaleras llenas de color y arte.

I tell you that I recently had the opportunity to visit Usiacurí, a small town in the Atlántico that, although I had heard about it many times and I had wanted to visit it for a long time, it was not until last weekend that I had the opportunity. I never imagined that this little corner was so charming, it was one of those outings that one makes without many expectations and ends up being surprised with the experience. After traveling by car for almost two hours, we arrived in Usiacurí where the real tour began, we started with a quiet walk through the center of town, where you can breathe a mixture of history, art and calm. We visited the church of Santo Domingo de Guzman, a beautiful structure that imposes itself on top of the hill and has a very nice view of most of the town. But what I liked most on the way to it were the stairs full of color and art.

Una vez arriba, además de la belleza de la iglesia por dentro dónde además, puedes firmar un libro especial para los turistas, está el mirador. Desde ahí se pueden ver los techos de colores de Usiacurí, que es algo característico de este lugar, vas a encontrar techos, casas e incluso negocios llenos de colores y arte. Aquí aprovechamos de sacar algunas fotos que no es por nada, pero quedaron increíbles.
Once at the top, besides the beauty of the church inside where you can also sign a special book for tourists, there is the viewpoint. From there you can see the colorful roofs of Usiacurí, which is something characteristic of this place, you will find roofs, houses and even businesses full of colors and art. Here we took some pictures that were incredible.
Algo que también me llamó mucho la atención fue el ambiente del pueblo, la gente es amable, todo está limpio y bien cuidado, y se nota el amor que sus habitantes le tienen a su tierra. Hay arte por todas partes, a demás del color en sus casas y negocios hay algo característico también y son las artesanías en palma de iraca, hechas a mano por mujeres talentosas del lugar. El arte y la tradición aquí no son solo parte de la historia, sino del día a día. También, hay bastantes restaurantes, cafeterías e incluso panaderías para que los turistas disfruten sin problema.
Sin duda, Usiacurí tiene esa energía que te relaja, que te desconecta del ruido y que te invita a caminar sin afán. No es un lugar donde vas a encontrar grandes multitudes ni planes agitados o extremistas, pero precisamente por eso es tan especial. Por ejemplo, en este pueblo a demás de conocer la iglesia y subir al mirador para tomar fotos muy bonitas, puedes conocer la antigua casa museo del poeta colombiano Julio florez, lastimosamente nosotros no pudimos entrar debido a la hora y el clima, también están los pozos termales, el centro cultural Takehara, puedes caminar por el pueblo y tomarte fotos en los murales, disfrutar de la gastronomía, entre otras cosas.
Something that also caught my attention was the atmosphere of the town, the people are friendly, everything is clean and well cared for, and you can see the love that its inhabitants have for their land. There is art everywhere, in addition to the color in their houses and businesses there is also something characteristic and that is the handicrafts in iraca palm, handmade by talented local women. The art and tradition here are not only part of the history, but also part of the daily life. Also, there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and even bakeries for tourists to enjoy without any problem. Undoubtedly, Usiacurí has that energy that relaxes you, that disconnects you from the noise and invites you to walk without anxiety. It is not a place where you will find large crowds or hectic or extreme plans, but that is precisely why it is so special. For example, in this town besides visiting the church and going up to the viewpoint to take beautiful pictures, you can visit the old house museum of the Colombian poet Julio Florez, unfortunately we could not enter due to the time and weather, there are also the thermal wells, the Takehara cultural center, you can walk through the town and take pictures in the murals, enjoy the gastronomy, among other things.
En este viaje también visitamos el centro "cultural Takehara House" que les mencioné antes, el cual fue creado en homenaje a la ciudad japonesa de Takehara, de donde procedía la familia de los primeros inmigrantes que llegaron a Usiacurí en 1915. Pero prefiero dejar eso para otro post porque realmente vale la pena contarlo aparte, sin embargo, por aquí les mostraré algunas fotos de este increíble lugar para que se animen a visitarlo.
Así que si estás buscando un plan diferente, cerca de la ciudad, económico y lleno de encanto, Usiacurí definitivamente te va a encantar.
On this trip we also visited the "cultural center Takehara House" that I mentioned before, which was created in homage to the Japanese city of Takehara, where the family of the first immigrants who arrived in Usiacurí in 1915 came from. But I prefer to leave that for another post because it is really worth telling it apart, however, here I will show you some pictures of this incredible place so you can visit it.
