Hi everyone!
A couple of weeks back, I went to Greenwich on the bank of the Thames for a unique photo opportunity. Every year over the summer months, the capital welcomes rare and exciting vessels.
On this occasion, a nut and bolt replica (save for the modern day motor) of Spanish ship Nao Santa Maria visited. She was the flagship of a small fleet and personally used by Christopher Columbus during the discovery America, known as 'the encounter between two worlds', in 1492.
She docked next to Tower Bridge in a small dock as part of a UK tour.
It stayed for about a week offering visitors a chance go onboard and get a sense of what it would have been like to live and sail on.
I believe the next location of the tour was Gravesend and on to Poole.
I had a lot of fun tracking her along the river as she passed the university and Cutty Sark
I also grabbed a couple of shots of the Cutty Sark as I've only ever flown close to it at night.
Also close by was Jupiter, operated by Viking Cruises. It was being prepped for a trip to Norway.
Until the next time!
