About 3 years ago, I did my very first modeling session. My husband had been begging me to model for him since the day we met, so I knew that it was going to happen inevitably!
I was still very uncomfortable, and I was quick to point out all of my flaws, but at the end of the day, it was a great experience. I had a great time, and the location was beautiful! We climbed our way up to a waterfall.
Recently, my husband took our oldest daughter to the same location. It's insane to reflect on how much time has passed between then and now. During my first photoshoot, our daughter was only a few months old. Today, she is 3-years-old! It truly made me ponder on the passage of time...
When I became pregnant with our Kiva, the idea of being a mother had seemed terrifying to me. Today, I love the role, and wouldn't change anything about it for the world. I see so much of my older sister and younger brother in Kiva, and it amazes me how much of life is just one big circle. At the same time, I am beginning to see more of her personality shining through. Kiva is starting to tell me that she "wants to do stuff like Mommy." When she sees me dye my hair, she wants to do it too. When she goes to the store with Daddy, she picks out a dress that I might like. She wants to start practicing makeup with me.
It has been a very surreal experience: having someone so small look up to me for such big things. At the same time, what kind of person will she grow up to become? She is already such a little diva 😂 Her current obsessions are ballerina and mermaid, and she has also asked for a princess dress. It's very exciting to think of who she will become!
In the meantime, these photos make me extremely proud 🥺 I cannot believe that she is MY daughter, in the best way possible ❤️ It is an incredible honor to be able to experience this life!
