Discipline vs. Motivation: The Key to Chasing Your Dreams

In life, when you are out there chasing your dreams, you begin to fight a war against discipline and laziness. These are powerful forces that can make you succeed or can hinder your progress. So to succeed, you need motivation and discipline.

Motivation is like that boost of energy. You get after watching that motivational post, that TED talk show. That's motivation. That word, charging words, you hear from those your role models and top coaches online. This feels like a spark of electricity. It feels exactly like you are filled with energy. But here is the most important thing. Those motivations can be very deceiving.

Studies have shown that motivations are tied to your emotions. Tday you are feeling strong, pumped and charged to do, or conquer the world. Then the next day, you find yourself just going through social media, feeling un-energetic, feeling like you can't do anything at all in life, you just feel like doing unnecessary things that are not useful.

If you are someone that relies on motivation, then you should have the motivation to do that means you are trying to build a house without a solid foundation, it might hold you up for a bit but it's still sustainable and achievable.

When you discipline yourself on the other hand it makes you steady, it gives you foundation you cannot count on, like you're showing up to work, you are chasing your goals even when you're tired even when you don't feel like it, then what you have to know is that discipline doesn't care about your mood or whether you are shining or whether you are healthy or you are not whether you feel motivated or not, discipline just demand actions and action is what gets you closer to your goal it is quite, that commitment to get you going, keep you day in day out regardless of those outcome and there is this way the important magic happens.

This success is not built on those moments where you feel motivated to do something it is built on consistent efforts whether you feel it or not.

A few years back I was trying to get on my fitness level sometimes, I read motivational quote on how to get fit. The next day I feel energized strong and I feel like going for a morning workout. I prepared myself and went on the road jogging and doing my normal workouts, but as times goes on I started feeling lazy, sometimes I could go days without doing my workouts, I was not disciplined, I kept on relying on motivation to get me going thinking that it would help me but at the end I failed woefully. Sometimes I wanted to stay on the bed because I was not motivated even though my sneakers was close to me and everything was prepared.

But over time I stepped up and never saw the importance of the result of being disciplined and doing what is expected to get the results and sometimes and it has helped me a lot. I never thought I could go this far but it really helped me in my fitness not depending on motivation but discipline myself to do what is right at all times.

And the reason i would say discipline always win is that discipline creates a permanent habit in you so when you know how to show up consistently your brain began to get you stood those things you do and when you take action it aligns to your body system.

Motivation is very important because it gets you started and gets you going in doing the work but discipline keeps you going whether you are in the mood or not it's not about being that perfect just about making that particular effort whether you are bringing something big sound to your business learning that our new business or time to work on yourself discipline show that you progress and when you start out it becomes immediate.

It's not to say that motivation is useless but motivation can just be an additional ingredients to you to keep going but it should not be determining factor of of you acting or working on your goals it's just a great kick starter or an energizer from the start like a boost to continue your journey but don't depend on motivation alone.

Discipline is the most important is like your your hope is that if we're to your goal it keeps you going so if you're aiming for goods if you want to be successful in life discipline should be your best bets.

Commit to the small actions you take show up for yourself even when you don't feel like or you have the motivation every day you just need to just keep going because that is where the transformation really occurs and trust me I should tell you that when you apply discipline the result will be really worth it.
