We always hold on to memories, especially the bad ones as believers. We always dwell on people's wrongs that have been done to us, the sin and the hurt they have brought us. We are still fixed on them. We are not living a life of love.
It's not about forgetting, but it's more about Satan stirring up the spirit in us to keep us chained. In 1 John 3:15, it says, Whoever hateth his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. When we have an unresolved anger, it is the handbook of Satan to steal the promises.
It is the handwork of Satan to steal the promises of God for us and to put us in a place of punishment. In Ephesians 4:31-32, it says, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as Christ's has forgiven us. When we are expected to walk in love, that is always the true key of forgiveness.
In 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, it says, Be patient, love is kind, love is not resentful. When we bear this and endure all these things, then we can be able to walk in love of God. Sometimes it might be hard to forget what is in our hearts. But as Christians, we are being asked to never mind and to live a life of love. Because that is the only way we can enjoy eternal life and enjoy God's grace right on earth.
If we are holding on to God just too much, it will reward us then and save us from inheriting what God has for us as his children. Let us choose to love. Pray for everyone that has offended us. And stand in grace, for there is freedom that awaits us. If we walk in love. Forgiven another.
Stay Blessed.
