There is this debate going on among Christians when it Tithing okay for Christians?

The teachings of Tithing give us a refreshing perspective on, and has been often debated over times. Brother Eli drawing from the scriptures, 2 Corinthians 11:7. We underscored that the gospel is meant to be shared freely without any burden or obligation of finance.

In our world today where sometimes faith can be seen to be given a prize, our church today has commercialized. Yet, also, we don't have to dismiss the biblical root of tithing. It was explained in the book of Hebrews 7 that the Levites, which were priests at that time, had no land of inheritance. They were appointed to collect tithes from the Israelites of other tribes in order to sustain their ministry and their work, which was understandable.

There was a specific law known at that time. The law changed when there was a shift in priesthood. Jesus came and gave us and became the head of the church and was at our eternal high priesthood. Hebrews 3: 1-7, 23:4 also show that there was a Levitical system that was changed, which included mandatory tithing, and this was replaced by Christ. And Christ's priesthood, we are expected to give freely and not be bound by old law.

This insight is very important, encouraging us to give freely. And Brother Eli also gave us an interesting clarity on the gospel of freedom while supporting ministry joyfully, not out of compulsion but from our heart.
