Today was one of those walks where the numbers didn’t matter as much as the feeling. Sure, I cracked the full 10,000 steps, but only by a small nr. But here’s the thing: my body doesn’t know the exact step count. It knows the rhythm of moving forward, the fresh air filling my lungs, and the way my brain slows down when trees and clouds replace screens and notifications.
The path by the canal was pure therapy. Still water mirroring the sky, patches of blue peeking through dramatic clouds, and that perfect combo of movement and stillness that walking gives you. At one point, standing on the bridge, looking through the bars at the endless stretch of water, I realized that the walk itself was the win. Not the numbers. Not the steps. Just the act of being out here.
So no, I only just reached the full 10k today. But I got perspective, calm, and a pocketful of views that made Friday feel like a reset. And that’s worth way more than hitting a round number.
