Some days you crush workouts, some days you crush… spreadsheets and soul-sucking meetings. Today was Brussels office mode: back-to-back calls, zero sunlight, even lunch got eaten by “calendar invites.”
But here’s the punchline: I still walked 5,000 steps. Not through parks or along rivers, but inside the glorious jungle of my data warehouse. Every lap powered by SELECTs, JOINs, and the burning question: why is every meeting an hour long when 12 minutes would do?
At one point, I literally thought:
SELECT * FROM steps WHERE perseverance = true;
…and bam!!! Watch ticked over 5,000.
The lesson? Stop whining about conditions. You don’t need perfect. You need persistence. Whether it’s a treadmill, a trail, or pacing like a caged animal between conference rooms, progress is progress.
Tomorrow maybe I’ll get sunshine. Today, SQL was my cardio.
