You haven’t experienced a true Belgian walk until you’ve been sun-kissed, rained on, and nearly wind-blown into a canal, all within the same 60 minutes. That was today’s lunch break.
Started under moody grey skies, puddles mirroring bare trees and glistening asphalt. Ten minutes in, the wind picked up like nature was trying to slap the procrastination out of me. Then came that dramatic pause, the kind only Belgium can pull off, when the clouds part just enough to throw a divine spotlight on the path ahead.
If this walk were a movie, it’d be a gritty drama with a hopeful third act.
I clocked a few wet kilometers, shot some moody frames, and called it at halftime. The treadmill finished what the storm started, pushing me over that 10k step goal.
The story behind the story? When the forecast looks messy, go walk in it anyway. Worst case: you get wet. Best case: you get a story.
