Only one walk today, but it was one of those strolls that gently reminds you why movement is magic.
8500 steps under a blanket of grey skies, the kind of weather that makes coffee taste better and the world feel like it’s running at 0.75x speed. The canal was calm, scattered with autumn leaves that looked like nature’s version of confetti. Boats moved so slow, I half expected them to wave back, and quite often, they do in fact.
There’s something about walking near water that resets your brain. Maybe it’s the rhythm of your steps syncing with the ripple of the current. Maybe it’s just the space, space to think, breathe, or just be. No fitness records broken today, but I didn’t need to. The goal wasn’t speed. It was stillness. Presence. Just walking and noticing that even a low-energy sky can make for a high-quality walk.
