Remarkable Post on X
Two things stand out in Finance Secretary Scott Bessent’s post last night.
First, as America’s top finance official, Bessent openly acknowledged Bitcoin and the original whitepaper on its 17th anniversary, a rare moment of recognition and respect from within the U.S. government for Satoshi’s creation.
Second, he used that reference as a pointed political message toward the Democrats amid the ongoing shutdown negotiations, drawing a contrast between Bitcoin’s unbroken, decentralized operation and Washington’s recurring standstills. US Shutdown is lasting a month now, one of the longest of all time.
Together, these two points mark a clear signal: Bitcoin has moved from the fringes to the center of political and financial discourse, a protocol that has matured, and an asset that’s firmly entering the mainstream.
