Have you ever wonder why ants walk in a straight line?

Ants follow a line so that they do not get lost in going to a food source and also allows them to be more effecient.

Ant lives in colonies and they are very organized.when an ant finds food, it picks a small piece and while returning, it leaves chemical scent called PHEROMONE along the trail. This trail of pheromone helps other ants of the colony to reach the source of food.

As these pheromones evaporate easily, every ant that is carrying food returning to the colony leaves additional pheromone, so that other ants behind can follow the smell and return to the colony. As the ants follow the smell, they tend to walk in a straight line.
