--- Not much going on, probably because of the golden week in China.

How China waged an infowar against U.S. interests in the Philippines

"InfinitUs Marketing Solutions, waged a cyber campaign paid for by China to weaken support for Philippine government policy and to sow discord over Manila’s security alliance with the United States, according to a review of the documents and the fake Facebook accounts, as well as interviews with two former company employees and two Philippine officials."

--- Not much of a surprise here. Any Chinese-owned marketing company anywhere in the world should be suspect.

"The Chinese-owned company also used the fake profiles to amplify anti-American content created by Filipino writers, including some who had received money from Beijing, Reuters found."

--- Again, no surprise. Although, they wouldn't even need to create some fake accounts. After all, there are Filipino outlets, like the Manila Times, who spread pro-Chinese propaganda for free.

"A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson told Reuters that Beijing doesn’t interfere in the internal affairs of other countries."

China threatened to retaliate against UK over foreign influence rules

"China threatened to retaliate against the UK government if ministers targeted parts of its security apparatus under foreign influence rules, the Guardian can disclose. Chinese officials warned the Foreign Office that the move would have negative consequences for relations soon after the Guardian reported it was under consideration"

--- More non-interference with Chinese characteristics.

"The disclosure will raise alarm bells given that ministers have so far refused to apply stricter foreign influence rules on lobbyists acting for China or any part of the Chinese state."

--- Goes to show that the UK government is sucking up to the CCP.

"Ministers are under pressure concerning the consequences of their rapprochement with Beijing and are facing questions about the collapse of a trial of two Britons, including a former parliamentary researcher, who were accused of spying for China. The trial of Christopher Cash, a former parliamentary aide to Conservative MPs Alicia Kearns and Tom Tugendhat, and his friend Christopher Berry had been due to begin this month, but the case was suddenly dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service on 15 September. Cash and Berry denied the charges. The Sunday Times and the Telegraph reported that the government’s refusal to describe China as an “enemy” in witness evidence from a security official led to the case being abandoned."

--- Which is also more evidence that the UK government is sucking up to the CCP. Suspicious at best.

No 10 denies government involved in collapse of China spying case

"Several sources close to the trial have told the BBC that the CPS would not have made the decision to charge the pair unless it was confident that it had enough evidence to meet the threshold set in the Act. Under the Official Secrets Act, anyone accused of spying can only be prosecuted if the information they passed on was useful to an enemy. However, last month the director of public prosecutions, Stephen Parkinson, who leads the CPS, said "the case could no longer proceed to trial since the evidence no longer met the evidential test"."

--- So you have to wonder, what changed?

This sea route has been dismissed as too treacherous. China’s taking the risk

"sending fleets of ships through this pristine, remote and dangerous environment is an ecological and human disaster waiting to happen"

--- Even if that is true, does anyone think that China cares?

"What the Istanbul Bridge is doing “resembles more of a traditional liner service,” stopping at multiple points, he told CNN. “That’s something we have not seen in the Arctic so far.”"

--- Yawn...
