Working with Fragments
Sometimes I write from real life, sometimes I don’t.
This past week, a number of one-liners, incomplete phrases, and images floated into my mind and wouldn’t leave until I had found a way to turn them into poems.
Without further ado, here they are.
**(1)**
**praying mantis
dancing on a pink cosmos
our evening dinner show**
**(2)**
**rolling thunder
in the other room
a family argument**
**(3)**
**beams of sunlight
between the cedar trees
a cobweb glistens**

**(4)**
**the blue hour
coming home to
an empty nest**
**(5)**
**a foreign postmark
the distance between
two hearts**
**(6)**
**parting
I feel a subtle change
in the wind**
**(7)**
**behind the geese
the migration begins
driving to Florida**

**As always, thank you for reading.**
