climbed to the top of a church, step by step, carrying my camera and backpack—as always, essential companions. I took out my lenses and began photographing the horizon. My eyes were fixed on the sky, capturing its vastness, yet I failed to notice the most important element: the ground beneath us.
Looking down, I saw people at work—tired, sweaty, fighting to survive. I started photographing them, and among the crowd, I captured an image that moved me deeply. It made me wonder: what dreams did this man once carry? Perhaps he held a university degree, once celebrated as a “golden graduate,” or maybe life forced him to abandon his studies because he simply couldn't afford to continue.
Now he rests, catching his breath before returning to the daily battle—to earn his meal, to move forward, to live.
