When you are a peacemaker, it is not about keeping quiet in other to keep things calm or staying away from conflict, But it is about stepping in with courage and love. True peace in some cases means actually facing that tough and difficult situations and not just to run away from it, True and lasting peace comes from God. The life of Abraham praying about Sodom and also moses praying for the isrealites are some of the notable examples that portrays this gospel. As a peacemaker, it also involves taking risk and standing in the gap for others due to love and compassion. As a peacemaker, you can be rejected, misunderstood, it can even come from those very close to you. But through the help of God, we can act with both boldness and gentleness, this encourages unity and forgiveness. Being a peace maker also requires you to be wise, patient and be very prayerful. not just to prove others wrong, but also to touch the heart of others and build bridges. Without peacemakers , the world will be divided, and then their will not be an opportunity to show the light of God. So let us ask ourselves are we to simply keep the peace, or are we to go outside and be true peace makers ? A living instrument for reconciling the outside world with the Love of God.
