One of the hardest but most important lessons for every Christian is learning how to forgive. As Bro. Eli Soriano shared, our first reaction when someone hurts us is often anger. Sometimes we even think of getting even.
As Christians, on of our duty is to live differently. We preach forgiveness, and not holding of grudges. We are taught to let love lead and guide our heart with it.
in Matthew 6:14-15: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” we are being reminded of the importance of forgiveness in this part of the bible.
When we forgive, we just don't do Good to them, but to ourselves too. we allow the mercy and grace of God to reach us when we forgive.
To forgive is not an easy thing to do, this is serious in case where we were hurt very deeply. But we were reminded by the preacher that for each forgiveness, we are giving ourself the chance to live out our faith.
If we truly love God as we claim, then we should show it also forgiving those around us.
WE should learn to practice forgiveness everyday, this will not only bring peace, but will strengthen our faith, and then we will also show to world what it means to be a Christian.
