The Silencio Network is a Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) focused on collecting global noise pollution data.
Silencio transforms smartphones into real-time data sensors, rewarding users who help build data models that aid in industries such as urban planning, real estate, public health, and hospitality.
In this post, we cover investment and growth over the past year, as well as the project's token, SLC.
Seed Funding
Silencio raised $2.5 million in seed funding in December 2024, led by Blockchange Ventures, with support from Borderless Capital and others.
This followed a $1 million pre-seed round earlier that year.
A partnership with Legion generated $112 million in allocation requests, though Silencio accepted only $1.3 million to prioritize community-driven growth.
Device and Data Growth
A major milestone in late 2024 was Silencio's full on-chain migration to Peaq, becoming the first project to launch on the DePIN-focused blockchain.
As of April 2025, Silencio had expanded its user base to over 800,000 devices across 180+ countries, and collected 26 billion noise data points. This positioned it as the world’s largest decentralized noise monitoring network.
The network has since reached over 1 million devices connected, as per the Dune dashboard.
The SLC Token
The SLC token was launched via the project's Token Generation Event (TGE) in early 2025 and is central to rewards, governance, and staking.
Users earn the SLC token by installing the Silencio app on their smartphone, recording environmental noise, and reporting it back to Silencio.
The SLC token has already been listed on Peaq's first decentralized exchange MACHINEX.
