Hi there!(βΏβ‘-β‘)
Today I'd like to share another older drawing that holds deep sentimental value. While I'm currently working on a new piece, I want to take a moment to reflect on a touching commissioned project from months ago. It was a privilege to create a graphite drawing for an old lady, capturing the essence of two precious photographs she provided. The story behind the drawing is both heartwarming and bittersweet. The pictures she shared depicted her and her late husband, as well as their beloved grandchild. Unfortunately, due to the husband's passing, the opportunity for a picture of all three together was missed. It was my task to merge these separate photographs into a single composition. With big creative freedom in hand, taking inspiration from the reference picture where the couple held a basket, I envisioned the grandchild positioned between them and also drawing their hands gently resting on the child's shoulder. ~ With the outcome of the commissioned drawings - I always find myself thinking it should've turned out better etc etc but this one ...fills me with pride. Knowing how happy she was when she recieved this drawing... π₯π I'm happy I was able to bring this family's story to life on paper. And now, let me show you the creative process behind this graphite tribute drawing. Hope you enjoy!π
