It’s been a while since I last shared my creative journey, but today, I’m thrilled to be back with a piece that holds a special place in my heart. Life sometimes pulls us in unexpected directions, and during my time away, I found myself reflecting, recharging, and reigniting my artistic passions. Now, I’m excited to return with my latest painting, "Ethereal Dusk". 🎨🖌️🌌 This 60x80 cm oil painting on canvas marks a fresh chapter in my art. It’s a piece born out of inspiration, challenge, and the sheer joy of creation. Let me take you through the journey of bringing it to life.
After stepping away from painting for a while, I stumbled upon an image online that sparked something deep within me. It was a serene coastal scene, glowing with the light of a setting sun. There was something magical about it—something that compelled me to pick up my brushes again.
This image became the starting point for Ethereal Dusk. Rather than recreating it exactly, I envisioned a fantastical world that expanded on its mood and colors. My goal was to craft a piece that felt like a dream, a window into a timeless, otherworldly moment.
Returning to painting after a long break was both exhilarating and daunting. I started by prepping my canvas, sketching out the basic elements of the composition: the archway, the city, and the vast, swirling sky. With each pencil stroke, I felt my creativity returning, stronger than ever.
Once the sketch was ready, I dived into the colors. The sky became the heart of the piece, blending warm hues of gold and orange with deep blues and purples. I experimented with layering and glazing techniques to achieve the luminous quality I envisioned, letting the colors guide me.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of Ethereal Dusk was building its layers of light and shadow. The foreground, with its aged stone arch and overgrown vegetation, anchors the painting in a sense of timelessness. The cityscape in the distance feels peaceful yet mysterious, hinting at stories untold.
The water became a reflective mirror for the sky, tying the entire piece together. It was in these details—adding ripples to the water, highlights on the clouds, and textures on the stone—that I truly felt connected to the process.
Sharing Ethereal Dusk feels like more than just presenting a painting; it’s a way of reconnecting with you all. It’s a reminder that even when we take a step back, the passion for creation never truly fades.
This painting represents not only my return to art but also the realization that inspiration can come from the most unexpected places—a fleeting image, a moment of stillness, or the quiet urge to create.
I’m so grateful to be back and to share this new work with you. Thank you for being patient during my absence. I hope Ethereal Dusk resonates with you as much as it did with me while creating it. Here's to more art, more stories, and more moments of wonder to come!
