Hello friends! This time I’m here to give you an excellent recommendation: the series Bon Appétit, Majesty!, a Korean show I stumbled upon as a suggestion on one of my favorite apps, Netflix. I’m not really into series, to be honest, because I like seeing results that are more or less immediate, like in a movie—beginning, middle, and end in an hour or so, and that’s it—but I must also say that I’ve come across one or two series that have hooked me from the very first episode, and this was one of them. The first thing I checked was the number of episodes, because if it’s more than 15, it’s not for me—I almost always get bored and lose interest. But this series has only 12 episodes, which I liked, so I dove right in. From the start, it tells the story of a very talented chef who works magic in her kitchen with her creative and spot-on recipes; we see a modern-day woman fighting for her dreams, aiming to win the world’s most prestigious cooking competition, and already an established chef with her three-Michelin-starred restaurant. But her life takes a turn when her father asks her to bring him a package on one of her trips—an old book from ancient times—and after reciting a spell written inside, the protagonist is literally transported to the past, with nothing but her cooking skills to embark on a crazy adventure where everything happens to her, but in the process she meets unique people and the love of her life, none other than His Majesty. That said, as the protagonist, her food helps her win hearts; but something that really strikes me about Korean romances is that they’re not very physically close during the courtship process, which keeps the audience on edge—at least I was always waiting for that closeness, for the love-filled kiss between the protagonists, ha ha ha, and I had to wait quite a while, but it was worth it. In this series, everything happens: betrayals, deceptions, friendship, love, sadness, resentment, envy... The entire spectrum of human emotions and feelings, both good and bad, parades before our eyes, but what’s interesting is that love always prevails above all else. When I started watching it, there were still a few episodes left to air, since they were released on a schedule, so I had to wait… but the good thing is that it’s now complete, friends, so go watch it—I guarantee you won’t be able to tear yourself away from your TV while it lasts, and best of all, the ending doesn’t disappoint; I was very satisfied. So if you want to watch a series that meets all your expectations, this is one of them. Besides the fact that the leads have great on-screen chemistry and that’s what they convey.  ¡Hola amigos! En esta ocasión vengo a hacerles una excelente recomendación y se trata de la serie Bon Appétit Majestad; que es una serie coreana que me topé como recomendación de una de mis aplicaciones favoritas, Netflix. No soy muy afecta a las series a decir verdad, porque me gusta ver resultados más o menos cercanos, como los que se dan en una película, principio y fin en una hora y algo y listo, pero debo decir también, que me he topado con una que otra serie que me ha atrapado desde el primer capítulo y este fue el caso. Lo primero que cuide de ver en un inicio, fueron la cantidad de capítulos, porque si la cosa va para más de 15 capítulos para mí no es, porque me fastidio casi siempre y pierdo el interés, pero esta serie tiene tan solo 12 capítulos, eso me gusto así que sin más empecé a verla y de entrada relata la vida de una chef muy buena que hace magia en su cocina de lo creativa y asertiva que es en sus recetas; podemos ver a una chica de la actualidad que está luchando por sus sueños, ganar el más prestigioso concurso de cocina del mundo y aparte ya ser una consolidada chef con su restaurante de 3 estrellas Michelin. Pero la vida le da un vuelco cuando su padre, le pide un favor de traerle una encomienda en uno de sus viajes, un viejo libro de épocas antiguas, que tras un hechizo que tenía en él, al pronunciar una oración escrita, la protagonista se va literal al pasado, sin más que sus conocimientos de cocina emprendiendo una loca aventura, donde le pasa de todo, pero en el proceso va conociendo personas únicas y al amor de su vida, nada más y nada menos que a su majestad. Cada capítulo está lleno de nuevos retos, de drama, de escenas cómicas, pero a la vez también de romanticismo. Eso sí, como protagonista, su comida, que la ayuda a conquistar corazones; pero Algo que me llama mucho la atención de los romances coreanos, es que ellos no son tan cercanos físicamente en el proceso de enamoramiento y esto pone a la expectativa al público, por lo menos yo siempre estaba esperando esa cercanía, el beso de amor entre los protagonistas ja, ja, ja y tuve que esperar bastante, pero valió la pena. En esta serie pasa de todo: traiciones, engaños, amistad, amor, tristeza, resentimientos, envidias... Toda la gama de emociones y sentimientos humanos, buenos y malos, desfilan ante nuestros ojos, pero lo interesante está es que el amor siempre prevalece por encima de todo. Cuando la empecé a ver me quedaron unos capítulos por estrenar, pues estaban por fechas, así que estuve que esperar..., pero lo bueno es que ahora está completa, amigos, así que vayan a verla les aseguro que no podrán despegarse de sus TV mientras dure y lo mejor, el final no defrauda, quede muy satisfecha. Así es que si quieres ver una serie que llene todas tus expectativas, esta es una de ellas. Aparte de que los protagonistas tienen muy buena química en pantalla y eso es lo que transmiten.
