I spent several days thinking about that object that has a history of years, that has that family connotation in my house, that is still present even today, and while looking at old photographs, I said to myself, "Here it is!" It's a pair of Christmas plush toys, the big snowman and our Santa Claus, and they have an impressive family history, since my younger children were little, babies, so I set out to find all the photos that testify to this entire family journey.  I always remember their origins. The snowman, my husband bought it for a Christmas for some friends, and I had Santa Claus made by my sister-in-law, who creates beautiful things in all kinds of crafts. Both arrived together that Christmas more than 13 years ago; they came to make one of our first Christmas decorations in this new stage of our lives. Our children grew up celebrating Christmas with these dolls, which are the first sign of Christmas decoration in my house, before any Christmas tree or nativity scene.  Because with them, the family has taken the most significant photos in our house; with them, our children have grown up and they have witnessed smiles, joys, family unity, and gatherings; sometimes I think, "if these dolls could talk, they would have many stories to tell" undoubtedly, because alongside them, my children took their first steps and even when they couldn't sit up by themselves yet, we would arrange them with cushions and such, so they could be in the picture with them, and to this day, now as teenagers, they still look for that special photo with their dolls.  We have also changed furniture over the years, and they were already there. I realized that while reviewing my photo albums, these are details I had even forgotten, so, remembering all those years, I realized how old they are and everything they represent for the family. This year it's their turn for a "bath" or treatment to make them look splendid, for this coming Christmas, God willing, and to continue capturing their story alongside the whole family.  My children have a special affection for these dolls, even tho they are aware that they are just decorations. However, they are very much aware that for them, Christmas begins with them in any spot on the furniture, in the living room. I remember that when our cats arrived, we were particularly concerned about them getting into mischief with the dolls, but thank God the most they have done is sleep next to them. I think that those objects we interact with over the years become imbued with our energies, and this pair of stuffed animals is proof of that.  Because those who know us and have visited us during this Christmas season already know that there may be other Christmas decorations, but these plush toys are our family trademark, our distinctive mark. Estuve por varios días, pensando en ese objeto que tiene esa historia de años, que tiene esa connotación familiar en mi casa, que aun en la actualidad sigue estando presente y viendo antiguas fotografías, me dije, ¡aquí está!, y es un par de peluches de Navidad, el señor muñeco de nieve grande y nuestro San Nicolás y es que ellos tienen una historia familiar impresionante, desde que mis hijos menores estaban chiquitos, bebés, así es que me di a la tarea de buscar todas las fotos que atestiguan, toda esta trayectoria familiar. Siempre recuerdo sus orígenes. El señor muñeco de nieves, lo compró mi esposo para una Navidad a unas amistades y el San Nicolás lo mandé a hacer con mi cuñada, que hace bellezas, en todo tipo de manualidades. Los dos llegaron juntos esa Navidad hace más de 13 años; ellos vinieron a hacer una de nuestras primeras decoraciones navideñas en esta nueva etapa de nuestras vidas. Nuestros hijos crecieron celebrando Navidad, con estos muñecos que son la primera señal de decoración navideña en mi casa, antes que cualquier árbol de Navidad o pesebre. Porque con ellos, es que la familia se ha sacado las fotos más significativas en nuestra casa; con ellos nuestros hijos han crecido y estos han sido testigos de sonrisas, alegrías, unión familiar, de reuniones; a veces pienso: "si estos muñecos hablaran tendrían muchas historias que contar" indudablemente, porque junto a ellos mis hijos empezaron a dar sus primeros pasos e incluso cuando aún no se podían sentar solos, los acomodábamos con cojines y demás, para que salieran junto a ellos y es la fecha y ya siendo unos adolescentes y ellos siguen buscando de sacarse esa foto especial con sus muñecos. También hemos cambiado de mobiliario a lo largo de los años y ya ellos estaban allí. Eso lo contacté revisando mis álbumes de fotos, son detalles que ya ni recordaba, entonces, recordando todos esos años, me di cuenta de lo antiguos que son y de todo lo que ellos representan para la familia. Ya este año les toca su "baño" o tratamiento para ponerlos regios, para esta próxima Navidad, Dios mediante y seguir retratando su historia junto a toda la familia. Mis hijos le tienen especial afecto a estos muñecos, aunque están conscientes de que son simples adornos, pero tienen muy presente que para ellos, la Navidad, empieza con ellos en cualquier lugar de los muebles, en la sala de estar. Recuerdo que cuando llegaron nuestros gatos, teníamos especial preocupación con ellos por si se les ocurría hacer alguna travesura con ellos, pero gracias a Dios lo más que se les ha ocurrido es dormir junto a ellos. Pienso que aquellos objetos con los que nos relacionamos a lo largo de los años, llegan a impregnarse de nuestras energías y este par de peluches, son la prueba de ello. Porque los que nos conocen y nos han visitado en estas fechas navideñas, ya saben que puede haber otros adornos navideños, pero estos peluches, son nuestra marca familiar, nuestro distintivo.
