HAVE YOU SQUISHED A GOAT LATELY?

Do you remember the wonder of discovery during your childhood? It is almost as special being the parent watching the sheer delight and intrigue of my growing toddler as he discovers the world around him. Although he goes with his dad to milk the goats on the machine every morning it has only been recently that he wants to try his little hand at the milking.

My two year old has very quickly realized some amount of independence. Dressing himself. Kind of. Collecting eggs and carrying them himself. Yikes. Using Daddy's screwdrivers to unscrew the hinges. Of doors .... But our house is still standing. And we continue to eat eggs for breakfast. While we protect him from dangerous adventures we always include him in the chores. He is learning very fast and proving to be a big help.

Then last week he excitedly told me it's time that he squished the goats! Wearing my two month old daughter the goat milking lessons have begun. I wish we adults would find such joy in the simple things of life. My son has not stopped talking about squishing the goats. Before I know it he will be making the cheeses and soaps too!

I can't promise it'll be any time soon but you can be sure it will be worth the wait. While I was waiting for the birth of my little girl we were able to splash in the waves, build castles on the beach and watch whales calving in the waves!! But for now I return to our semi-desert home and the adventure of squishing goats....
