Welcome to our Reef

The Reef index and Author Showcase post are intended to highlight creators within the @BuddyUp community. You can see the latest Index post here, the members who are active and have provided us with their short blog descriptions get indexed and at the end of the week we feature the best posts in this The Reef - Showcase --- As this is a new feature, we will keep adapting it to find the best fit. Currently, not many of the members are featured in the index post and through that, I have decided to steer clear of the classic curation style. The curation method is not only very difficult to accomplish satisfactorily and can seem distant through the use of passive voice, and because this is for the community to enjoy I will opt for a week in review methodology, allowing for far more content to be displayed with the intent of allowing discovery over limited options which might lead a person to feel that there is a push for insincere voting. ---

Beginnings can come after an end.

This week has had quite a few beginnings, apart from the obvious "trendy" things everyone always get caught up fawning over as is our simple human behaviour there are exciting things happening on the reef with everyone pushing forward, discovering and creating.

@Sumatranate is on cloud 9 this week, welcoming his new son into the world he gave us the pleasure of sharing the bundle of joy with the world in his post aptly titled The Little Guy is Here. He dotingly adds a few stats about his son such as "Most loved little brother" and "Loves to eat and sleep", alongside other more serious and heartfelt lists reflecting on what he has learnt from the experience and what he wishes to teach his son, @Sumatranate we wish you all the happiness in the world as your family grows so do your blessings ❤️

I think that this is the best way a person could start any week in review and hope that he has mastered the ability to sleep standing upright since I can only imagine that to be a useful skill to have. I tried it at work but putting a sock on my ear was going a bit too far. penderis

@Dreemsteem

Continuing with new beginnings our resident firefly has started a new project, not the only one either and we will get to you in a second @Bluefinstudios. Her latest project was born from her love for kids and want to see them achieve their fullest potential. @SpunkeeMonkee is an online treasure hunt currently in the testing phase and 100% worth keeping an eye on. With the obvious jokes aside I think Dreem is onto something here and bringing a more family orientated focus to the platform is an avenue worth exploring. Known for his great photography posts with short and sweet stories or poems, like in his recent post about The Old, Salem Loft where he shares a bit of history to accompany this exquisite shot. You will always have something new to enjoy from @BluefinStudios and now you will have even more reason to check in on him as he has started a brand new photography contest for all skill levels. His ImageSkills contest is in it's 4th week and going from strength to strength. The latest contest is all about MOTION and shares the results of the previous winners for you to enjoy. Finding support for your posts can be difficult, which is why @BluefinStudios is offering @steembasicincome as prizes which we can all agree is the prize that keeps giving.

Professional photographers having contests such as Blues ImageSkills contest can greatly increase the level of photography posts overall, you will find that not just anyone with a phone can post random images and expect to win. The added bonus is that and I might be wrong but if you asked @bluefinStudios really nicely he would be more than happy to share some knowledge and that is worth, I would say a few $100 😄 penderis

Continuing on with contests that are new and fresh, you should definitely visit @makowrites’ Sherlock Challenge. In this challenge/contest you are given an image of his choosing and need to deduce as much information about him as you can. Place that in a comment and you might win some more SBI shares. @Makowrites also writes an ongoing exploration into the world of his unpublished sci-fi novel, Kayde and Alora's Tale is part 10 in the series and we are looking forward to seeing what happens next.

It is monday and we can expect a new weekly rundown from Rhet, every week we get to enjoy new expansions from his Gatekeepers universe. Currently he is busy with two series from the Gatekeepers universe; The Agency - Mind Mapping and Deathwish - Part 11 - Crime and Punishment. Building up to the release of his second book Gatekeepers, Book Two: Order of Gravitas this would be an opportune time for you to grab a copy of his first book in the series, you will find details at the bottom of his second book announcement.

Currently publishing his Novel "The Three Sisters" to Steem he has already published 4 very intriguing parts, this week he started publishing the German version and at first glance it looks just as exciting as the english version so be sure to head over and give it a read. The co-host of the Barbarella Show and creator of the official Welcome Wagon Digest, in its 7th week has been publishing something a bit different. His excitement over the launch of @Dstor is clearly visible when you go through his feed. Not to spoil anything I recommend after you have given "The Three sisters" a read, go learn more about this exciting new project and decide for yourself whether you agree.

Both On the surface @Anutu and @Rhethypo might seem like opposites the one is a lot more technical and direct the other creative and bubbly, this really depends on whether you are looking at their cover art since the creativity in @Rhethypo's writing is comparable to great art. The thought and technicality backing the designs and layouts that @Anutu brings to his posts is the eye for detail that you require to achieve more than good.

Both are great writers to follow, and you will always find something for your mind and soul. Not to mention @Rhethypo's whimsical meme Friday which is a great example of how to meme with originality. penderis

Going through a difficult time of late with the loss of her fur baby Bayley, @YouHaveWings has created a beautiful post in memory of Bayley. In her post Bayley - I Will Always Be Your Human she shares a bit about the circumstances leading up to the sad passing of her fur baby, then honors him with through telling his story, a beautiful homage to the little furry prince.

It has been a big week for @GregoryPatrick as he made his debut on MSP Waves with a new show called "No Bull" where he is free to give his opinion on what is currently happening in the world, his second episode of No bull airing just a day ago, and apart from this great news we should not forget that he also runs The Decentralized News Hour as part of @InformationWar , this is great for those of us who wish to hear honest reporting and opinions on matters that affect our lives today. Whether you are learning something new from the excellent research that @YouHaveWings do or enjoy a bit more of a waffling I stole that word from @JuliaMulcahy then both Wings and Julia have you covered as neither of these traits are unique to the one over the other. Both ladies are far smarter than what I am and you will notice that immediately in their writing, so be sure to give them a visit and learn something new about our world and yourself.
@GregoryPatrick is working hard to provide people with the opportunity to know what is truly happening, the accessibility provided by airing these shows without the fear of censorship means that more people will be able to express their opinions, met with reasoning and critical judgement I can see The Decentralized News and his other shows facilitate debate and understanding over ignorant hate. penderis
