Hey friends, guess what, I think I just successfully made some juicy, tender and flavorful ribs for the first time. Just with my helpful air fryer, I made a big slab of ribs to an amazing meal and it was way easier than I expected.

Normally, I’d have to spend quite a bit to enjoy good ribs, but this time I decided to make them myself, my style, my flavor, and on a friendly budget. Turns out, it’s not that hard. Now I can eat all I want without worrying about the price. If you’ve got an air fryer and want to try something new, join me in the kitchen!

Ingredients - 1 big slab of pork ribs - Lemongrass, onion, garlic - Olive oil, oyster sauce, chili sauce - Salt, black pepper, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, MSG (optional)

How to make:

  • Step 1: Clean the ribs and chop the lemongrass, onion, and garlic. Pat the ribs dry and lightly cut the surface so the seasonings can soak in better.

Then, prepare the dry rub by mixing dry ingredients: salt, brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, msg in a bowl.

  • Step 2: Rub the dry mix evenly over both sides of the ribs and let it rest for about 20-30 minutes.

While waiting, prepare the wet marinade: finely crush the lemongrass, onion, and garlic for that rich aroma but no need to crush it too much, just like my photo is fine.

Then mix in olive oil, oyster sauce, and chili sauce to make a flavorful, slightly thick mixture. This makes the meat tender and more flavorful.

Coat the ribs with this wet marinade and let them rest again for 15-20 minutes so all the flavors really sink in. Left some wet marinade for later.

  • Step 3: Time for the first round of cooking. Wrap the ribs in foil and put in an air fryer at 150°C for 60 minutes. Ensure there are no holes in the foil.

You can also add some sweet potatoes like mine. 721c67de-ecf1-44f2-9257-117f6aeb26d4.jpg

  • Step 4: After an hour, unwrap the ribs, brush the remaining wet sauce over the top, and air fry again at 180°C for 10 more minutes. And this time, don’t need to close the foil, leave it open.

Now just look at this beautiful rib slab.

Golden and glossy on the outside, juicy and tender inside, the flavor was so amazing. I’m honestly so proud and couldn’t wait to taste some.

I ate a lot and was so satisfied with some sweet potatoes and pickles. What a delicious and comforting meal! This is suitable to eat with family and friends in a rainy day like in Da Nang. And if you like some red wine, that’s approved hehe
