Hive Witnesses have scheduled a fresh Hard Fork for Hive on November 19. Apparently there are a lot of minor changes and bug fixes that are nothing to be concerned about (and probably won't be noticed), however there HAS been some questions asked about changes to the Voting System. After having a bit of a dive into what information is available, I think I've got a reasonable handle on what is actually going to happen.
It seems like the intent is to make the voting system more "Intuitive" by making the vote values consistent regardless of stored Voting Power. Rather than have your 100% vote Value start dropping as your Voting Power drops the idea is to make your value constant (determined by your stake) and just drop your VP down toward zero at fixed amounts. If you hit 0% VP then you just can't vote any more until you recharge.
Of course this is my interpretation which I have based off this clip from HiveFest :-

Start at about the 2:45 mark and listen for a couple of minutes.
There has been a couple of more alarmist interpretations (such as abolishing the vote slider and fixing all vote weights at 100%) which would (in my opinion) have fairly serious implications for Hive projects more broadly - such as our very own Community Curation Project here at Silver Gold Stackers. However, I think these interpretations are misunderstood and I am not too concerned.
In fact as far as Precious goes I think there will not need to be any adjustment to her voting behavior AT ALL. Her Voting Power will continue to fluctuate but it's always been managed and won't be in any danger of dropping to zero.
Of course I reserve the right to be completely wrong and will do my best to react to any unexpected issues in a timely manner (as always) but I'm not making any promises.
