Hello friends of [Feel Good](https://ecency.com/created/hive-190931)! Welcome to my entry in the Phone Photography contest [round #85](https://ecency.com/hive-190931/@untilwelearn/phone-photography-contest-85), and this time I wanted to share a photograph that I had been waiting a long time to take. It turns out that the reconstruction work at the research institute where I work is finally finished, and there's now full access to all areas of the complex. This place, though it may not seem like it, is much older than it appears and wasn't originally built as a research center. It was formerly a presidential retreat commissioned by the Venezuelan dictator Marcos Pérez Jiménez, but it was never used and was later taken over by the Central University of Venezuela as a research center. But the most interesting thing about all this that I'm telling you is that this place is located in a strategic location in Caracas; it's almost at the top of a large hill that allows you to observe the entire Caracas valley.

From the west, through the historic center, to the east of Caracas, you can see the whole city, its buildings, apartments, and avenues. But what stands out most is seeing how all this urban development and all the daily activities take place under the watchful gaze of the majestic Ávila mountain, our great green lung and protector against storms and hurricanes. Many stories, tales, songs, and poems have been dedicated to this great mountain, an iconic symbol of Caracas identity, and that's why I wanted to capture it with my phone's camera to share this feeling with you.

Well friends, I hope you enjoyed this great panoramic view of my city. I had to wait from January until now for them to fix up this great viewpoint at the high school because, being on a hill, the constant rains of last year had undermined the foundations. So it was necessary to reinforce the entire structure, which took a lot of work to get the machinery in and start the job, but in the end it was worth the time and investment. Hola amigos de [Feel Good](https://ecency.com/created/hive-190931)! sean bienvenidos a mi participación en el concurso Phone Photography en su [round #85](https://ecency.com/hive-190931/@untilwelearn/phone-photography-contest-85), y en esta ocasión he querido compartirles una fotografía que tenia mucho tiempo esperando hacerla. Resulta que finalmente terminaron los trabajos de recostrucción en el instituto de investigación donde trabajo y finalmente hay un acceso completo a todas las áreas del complejo. Este lugar aunque no lo parezca tiene muchos más años de los que aparenta y no se construyó como un centro de investigación, era anteriormente una casa de descanso presidencial mandado hacer por el dictador venezolano Marcos Pérez Jiménez pero nunca se llegó a estrenar y fue tomado por la Universidad Central de Venezuela como centro de investigación. Pero lo más interesante de todo esto que te estoy contando, es que este lugar esta ubicado en un lugar estratégico de Caracas esta casi en la cima de una gran colina que le permite observar todo el valle de Caracas.

Desde el oeste, pasando por el centro histórico, hasta el este de Caracas puedes ver toda la ciudad, sus edificios, apartamentos y avenidas. Pero lo que más destaca es ver como todo este desarrollo urbano de la ciudad y de todas aquellas actividades que se llevan acabo día a día suceden bajo le mirada protectora del gran cerro Ávila nuestro gran pulmón vegetal y protector de tormentas y huracanes. Muchas historias, relatos, canciones y poemas se han dedicado a este gran cerro, ícono identitario del ser caraqueño y por eso quise capturarla desde la cámara de mi móvil para compartir este sentimiento con ustedes.

Y bien amigos, espero que te haya gustado esta gran panorámica de mi ciudad, tuve que esperar desde enero hasta ahora para que acondicionaran este gran mirador del instituto porque al estar en un cerro, las lluvias constantes del año pasado habían socavado los cimientos del mirador así que era necesario reacondicionar los cimientos de toda estructura, lo que llevó un gran trabajo para llevar la maquinaria y comenzar los trabajos, pero al final valió la pena el tiempo y la inversión realizada.
