Because of that, you can easily feel weighed down by the constant requests for financial help. You lose the freedom to move around freely, because there are always people waiting to ask for something. Even going to the market becomes a struggle. Prices change just because you are a celebrity, and once you don't meet their expectations, you are quickly labeled as stingy.* *A few years ago, a friend of mine was working as a receptionist in a hotel. One day, a famous Nigerian actor checked in. When it was time for him to check out, my friend jokingly asked for a tip, but the man didn't give him anything. Later, my friend came to gist me about how stingy the actor was. In my mind, I was like - Do you know how many other people like you are asking him for money? No more walking around freely without some crazy people trying to take advantage of us. Secondly, fame would force me to upgrade my lifestyle. If I were living in a ghetto or rural area before, I would have to move somewhere else closer to where other celebrities stay. Just to escape constant disturbance and to be around people who see me as normal. *And thirdly, I would have to deal with the risk of thieves targeting my home, hoping to cash out big. It is understandable why we don't see the most famous people living in ghettos or areas where celebrities ain't much. Leave the singer portable out of this.* *Then come the fake friends, many people will approach you for what they think you have, not for who you truly are.
