Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share what I did basically on June 2nd, which in Italy is a national holiday and therefore you are at home from work and I took advantage of it to take a beautiful walk in the middle of nature, what I usually like to do.
This time, I went to see the valley of the Mills which is located in Mossano a town practically on the southern part of coliberici in the province of Vicenza, it is a beautiful town because it is immersed in nature, it is right there that you have the possibility of walking a path that is not so difficult that winds along a river that once fed more than 12 Mills in medieval times.
Unfortunately, only two have survived, which are now a sort of museum and are opened every now and then for guided tours, Unfortunately on June 2nd they were closed Probably because it was a holiday and the volunteers who take care of these Mills were busy somewhere else.
I really like these routes that combine both the naturalistic discourse, but also the historical discourse, because I always say that it is important to remember where we come from and these artifacts are the testimony of the past years and of how flourishing this area of Italy was, but above all the fact and this makes me think a lot, of how much more sustainable they were once in the agricultural operations they did.
As I was telling you, some mills have been restored and also equipped with educational panels that are useful for explaining their history to tourists who want to visit these places, and as you can see this valley is very characterized by an environment of water bags but also of woods that in my opinion make it a truly suggestive place also to cool off on hot summer days.
Nearby there is also the cave of San Bernardino, a very important site as a place of worship and that is occasionally open to the public. But I was unable to reach it because the path is quite complicated to follow.
However, if someone wants to visit this valley and just start from the center of the town of Mossano, in my opinion it is a beautiful place, something not very touristy probably but it can be very fascinating and it is also very beautiful because it is also well kept by the volunteers who take care of remembering these places, for me it was still a beautiful experience even if unfortunately the mills were not open to visitors inside.
Thank you for reading, see you at my next writing
