Another week and another #sublimesunday - I’m not doing bad here although it’s still proving difficult to remember to take photos of what is happening during the week.
iCloud Photos to the rescue though, apparently I can now seach for flowers - and get back over 700 photos of flowers I have taken photos of over the years. Whoever has to look at each of my photos and decide if it’s flowers or not must be very quick - the search comes up instantly - amazing
So we can have some flowers I took photos of ages ago to enjoy again.
It has been a mixed week for the weather, more sunny intervals and random heavy rain downpours. But as the months march on it is going to be getting colder very soon.
Which leads into a medly of throwback snow photos from last winter, we had some snow mid and then late November which is quite early for the UK really.
The major snow we had though was the day after New Year - and it was a considerable amount for the UK - and it lasted a good week thanks to freezing temperatures.
One of my favourite features of the Tesla is the pre-condition, you can set times when you want it to warm itself up and prepare the battery for driving - so I have set each day to warm itself up for when I go to work. Especially on frosty mornings, avoiding scraping ice off the windscreen is a big bonus because the car has heated itself up and melted it all off. Deep snow covering would take more time though, so on a few occasions I still had to wipe some off the car before setting off. Of course it works year round, so in summer it will actually cool the cabin - you just set the internal temperature you want the car to get to and it does it. Turning climate on through the app is also very handy when you need to go somewhere but not at a set time, turn the climate on while you are getting ready to leave - and by the time you get in the car it has reached the perfect temperature - cooled down in summer or warmed up in winter.
Unsuprisingly a rear wheel drive Tesla on the standard all season tires is not amazing on snow, to be fair it did alright for the majority of road travelling I did. But during one particularly heavy dump I had to pick my boy up from his friends, had intended to stay on the flat but thanks to a takeaway driver blocking the road ended up on a side road which was relatively steep and completely covered in snow. No movement with traction control on, activate slip and slide mode and just produced impressive wheel spin without moving much, at best just sliding the back end from one side of the road to the other. My lads friend saved the day borrowing a snow shovel and digging me a wheel path either side so I could slowly progress up the slope. Lessen learned, for future snow related issues I ordered some of the massive cable tie snow grips you can just tie a few around the back wheels to let it grip a bit.
I should probably throw in a photo of the 30kg roaster, which is still banging out our commercial batches of coffee - our coffee customers can order 40kg of coffee per week so we need to be able to quickly keep up with the demand.
And the old 5kg Yellow Peril should not be forgotten, I have been doing some general maintenance and clean up in preparation for it possibly being sold.
To be fair it is in very good condition already having just 2.5 years of daily use, just needs a fresh bearings grease up and top the oil up in the drum gear. Chaff collector could do with a jet wash out too, and maybe a touch up with high temperature stove paint.
Lovely freshly roasted coffee beans, we will be busy roasting again tomorrow to fulfill all the weekends orders that have already come in.
Another #sublimesunday full of all my own photos, and of course carefully written text.
