The Devil on the Bus 👹

Hello dear Black and White community,

Today I met the devil…
Well, it’s just a saying. As the classic Peruvian song goes: "Don’t play with the devil, the devil eats fire, and he can catch you, and he can eat you."

In the middle of this Halloween atmosphere, a peculiar character got on my bus. I didn’t waste any time: I pulled out my camera and started shooting without hesitation. Meanwhile, the presence of older generations was also felt in the same space, and the dilemma of every October 31st appeared again: Halloween or Día de la Canción Criolla? The eternal debate between foreign influence and our Afro-Peruvian music tradition, which is part of our cultural identity.

I remain in the middle. I just take the opportunity to do what I love most: documenting life. And this time, I was lucky to discover that this “devil” was actually a she-devil. A surprise that ended up brightening my whole day.

El Diablo en el Bus 👹

Hola querida comunidad en Blanco y Negro,

Hoy me encontré con el diablo…
Bueno, es un decir. Como dice la clásica canción peruana: "No juegues con el diablo, el diablo come candela, y te puede atrapar, y te puede comer."

En medio de este ambiente de Halloween, un peculiar personaje subió a mi bus. No perdí el tiempo: saqué mi cámara y empecé a disparar sin vergüenza. Mientras tanto, también se sentía la presencia de generaciones antiguas en el mismo espacio, y apareció el dilema de cada 31 de octubre: ¿Halloween o Día de la Canción Criolla? La eterna discusión entre la influencia extranjera y nuestra música criolla afroperuana, que forma parte de nuestra identidad cultural.

Yo me quedo en el medio. Solo aprovecho el momento para hacer lo que más me gusta: documentar la vida. Y esta vez, tuve la suerte de descubrir que aquel “diablo” en realidad era una diabla. Una sorpresa que terminó alegrándome todo el día.
