Wolves in Sheep's Clothing / Lobos con Piel de Oveja

Street Documentary — Lima, Perú

Hello dear Black and White community,

I live in a country that’s not doing well.
I come from a city that feels like it’s slowly dying like that song by Los Chabelos, “seguimos remando,” we keep rowing, fighting against everything.

I go out to capture smiles, but I only find struggle.
People sometimes ask why I take these photos,
and my answer is simple: because it’s my mission to show how those on top wear sheep’s clothing while the people become prey to their greed.

This is our reality.
And to be honest, today I don’t feel like writing.
Yesterday, another child died a victim of expired tear gas fired by the police.
She was just passing by with her mother, who works near the protest areas.

We can’t remain indifferent to all this.
Sending strength and good energy to everyone still resisting.

Lobos con Piel de Oveja / Wolves in Sheep's Clothing

Hola querida comunidad de Blanco y Negro,

Vivo en un país que no anda bien.
Soy de una ciudad que parece que pronto va a morir como dice la canción de Los Chabelos, “seguimos remando”, seguimos luchando contra todo.

Salgo a retratar sonrisas, pero solo encuentro penurias.
A veces me preguntan por qué tomo esas fotos,
y la respuesta es simple: porque es mi misión,
mi forma de mostrar cómo los de arriba son lobos vestidos de oveja
y el pueblo es la presa de su ambición.

Esa es nuestra realidad.
Y seré sincero: hoy no tengo ganas de escribir.
Ayer murió otra niña, víctima de gases vencidos que lanza la policía al pueblo.
Solo pasaba por ahí, acompañando a su madre que trabaja cerca de donde se mueven las manifestaciones.

No podemos quedarnos indiferentes ante tanta mierda.
Buenas vibras para quienes siguen remando.
